Practice Today

Koach,
How did Poole and Neal look? Did Neal get a lot of receiver looks? Was Tom Smith noticeable at all?

It was hard to distinguish between Poole and Smith sometimes because the 28 and 29 look so similar. Poole did have one long run after he broke it to the outside during the early 11-on-11 drill.

Neal started out not very well. He tripped for a loss on his first carry, I remember that. However, he did make a few good catches out of the backfield and did make a few good moves to gain some extra yards.

Honestly, I thought Lane was the best back today, and that's not an insult to the other guys. Lane was just making great plays every time he touched the ball.

The news about Lane just gets better and better.
Koach did this O look more explosive than Kiffin's with Crompton and Hardesty. If so do we look a lot better than 09 or just somewhat?

Was talking about the in practice play not season versus week...Koach said he saw a practice of Kiff's so if it was a similar time of year, how'd they compare?

This offense DEFINITELY looks better than Kiffin's with Crompton and Hardesty. When I watched Kiffin's practices with Crompton, I often shook my head with how horrible Crompton and Stephens handled situations when they were reading the defense. From what I saw today, Bray made excellent decisions and was EXTREMELY accurate. So, so far, this offense, IMHO, is definitely better than the '09 offense.

Rivera made a couple of good catches and looked faster than last year. I did not notice Clear on any plays. Like I said, I will take a roster with me next time and pay much more attention to the defense and newcomers.

Outside of Santos this thread has been the best news of the weekend. Good good news to hear.

Not surprising, but good news nonetheless. People forget how terrible the '09 offense was (outside of WKU) for the entire month of September.

For as long as I can remember I've been thinking that Poole would ultimately be the go to back for us this year and I even shrugged off some of the lane hype, but it's becoming more apparent with these threads that he IS the REAL DEAL! I'm beginning to think he has the potential to be a freshman all American and am so looking forward to seeing him play!

Remember, I am by no means a football guro. I am just telling you what I saw today. Lane reminded me of a combination of Travis Stephens and Derrick Tinsley from the plays that he made today. However, remember, this is just one day. I plan on attending practice on Tuesday when they are in pads again, and I promise to pay more attention to the defense and the other newcomers more often. :)

I definitely agree with you on Lane and Bray. And Simms did not look good today. I was a little disappointed with Rodgers today. He dropped a couple of passes that he should've caught and also dropped a kickoff return. He seemed like he was not taking practice as seriously as the other receivers. I am excited to see his production on the field, but based on what I saw today, I wish he'd put more effort into practice.
