Little nervous about DE. Sounds like Phillips, Kongbo, Taylor are about it at that position.

Yup. Looks like J. Blakely is the only other non-true frosh that has the size to play DE. Outside of those 4 it's true Frosh. 😬

I want to make sure that everyone watching these videos and reading these posts realizes.... we have a team that can win 10 this year, but stop for a second and think about the next two years. We are on the edge of having a championship caliber team in Tennessee.

Thanks fingers.

If they can somehow make it to Atlanta this year then I will buy into being a championship caliber team for the next couple of years.

And even those 3, who are very physically talented, are completely unproven as SEC DEs. Gotta hope they play to their potential and that one or two of the younger guys are ready to play and provide quality reps.

I read on GoVols247 that Hoke said our defensive line has a LONG WAY to go. Should we be concerned with the amount of experience Hoke has coaching defensive lineman and to hear that from him?

I'm gonna be concerned about the entire defense until they make me not be.

I'm not going to start a new thread but what is more important to everyone here on Volnation?
Winning the SEC East or a New Years Bowl?

Coach speak. After just one week no coach is going to say that they are ready to go.

Out of 100 d line coaches in the country, at least 95 of them are saying this or similar

Yes. See last years defense.

Trust me I didn't miss a snap the entire season. I just wonder if we are going to struggle on the defensive line? When I hear a veteran coach with years of experience coaching defensive lineman I raise a red flag.

We return injured guys and unproven guys, worried would be the correct thought.

Beating Vandy (getting Butch above .500 with them, and Tennessee @.500 for the last 6 years) and USCe...

What did I win??!!

Your lives do not fail if the orange swarm fails. The orange swarm fails without you. The power of the these young men will become clear when this fan base stands with them and behind them and they feel the belief you have in them. They are Tennessee, you are Tennessee. Start believing in yourselves.
