Sitting in the media room. Some observations:
-Preston Williams is looking like the 5 star he was coming out of high school. From the passing drills today, he was on point in sideline catches and getting his feet in bounds. Didn't miss a single catch. Malone also looked pretty good out there as well. From what I saw, the only drops came at the hands of the quarterbacks either throwing slightly behind or ahead. Jeff George had an easy over the shoulder TD grab wide open....and dropped it. He's the only one so far that I haven't been too impressed with. Still not sold on him.
-Malone and Sutton went head on in a one on one drill from the 5 yd line to endzone. Sutton had him shutdown in the corner endzone and Malone still managed to hop over him and grab the ball for the score. Both Malone and Williams are just on another level compared to last year.
-From some DL vs OL one on ones, it was pretty much 50/50. Vereen and Richmond keep going at it and each time the other wins. Both groups are playing very tough and are being very competitive, which is really good to see.
-Guarantano had some really nice passes, including a very nice over the shoulder 30 yd pass to Josh Smith. Laid it in perfectly. Then the next time, he overthrew the guy (walk on receiver) but if it was a starter, they would've sped up to catch it. Dobbs looked very sharp on sideline throws. Also had good velocity on some throws which was good to see. JD, JG, and QD had solid reps throwing with good velocity, tough, and tight spirals.
-Overall, from the 4 periods we got, the team looked to be sharp and focused. Gonna be a fun year I think.

So Justin Martin,
I'm not worried but curious. Dude was suppose to be filthy smooth, fast, height, and all the traits you want in a CB. I've read more than once that he keeps getting beat in his 1 v. 1 drills.
Callaway is a freshmen, shorter, slower, doesn't know the play book, etc
Like I said. I'm not worried, but if our D is gonna reach the potential it has, we need Justin to excel.

Malone really looks to be coming into his 5* ability. A healthy PWilly is just what we all thought he would be. Great news on the QB's as well. With all these things together this should be a good season. Lets keep up the good health and enjoy the ride. Thank you HardKnox. I been looking foward to your post today. Good stuff. :rock2:
