Huh? Not a familiar trend?
I like Dobbs. He's a great leader. He's as good as they come as a student-athlete. He's one of the greatest running QB's to ever play at UT.
BUT..... him underthrowing receivers and particularly on vertical routes IS an all TOO familiar trend. I have no doubt at all that he has worked at it and continues to do so.... but the lack of an effective vertical game could be the difference in this season.
Just watched the UGA game again last night.... one pass in particular comes to mind. I think it was supposed to be a deep out.... it hit the ground at least 5 yards in front of the WR.
I remember several passes he threw short on vertical routes allowing them to be defended. Honestly.... I can't think of even one he over threw. And this of course takes in that he doesn't throw vertical often.... which is probably a statement on the coaches' confidence.
Very glad Shoop is working with the Safeties himself.....
We've had very poor play from that position for years!
The Big Eye don't lie.....obviously Shoop has seen something there that he wants to "coach" himself!
