Practice 10

I would say TK Jr has the best instincts on the back end of our defense. I know the fan favorite is Warrior but I just think he is the best athlete of the bunch imo. Warrior could be a top DB next year in the conference imo. I would take TK Jr over Warrior right now. Imagine the brain of TK Jr matched with the athleticism of Warrior? That would be a nightmare for the opposing offense.

It seems that Dormady is doing what many expected he would. Winning the starting job. I really like seeing Kyle Phillips doing good work. Didnt hear anything about Taylor though. I really hope he breaks out this year.

Then you are just flat out wrong. Want to know one of the big reasons our rushing numbers were so good? It was because of Dobbs. How many times did we see the pocket collapse and Doobs have to run for his life? Next thing we know he turns a small gain into a huge one.

How many games did u watch? Did you see teams that had vastly less talented defenses just push our OL around? Did you not see our OL fail to open up running lanes time and time again? Our offensive line has been well below average these past few years. Especially in the SEC. If we didnt have Dobbs, our rushing numbers would have been utter crap.

Why can't Tk and Warrior be on the field at the same time? Warrior is a great combo of speed/size correct? He could play either position....

Understand that numbers are a measuring stick but the OL hasn't passed the eye test for several years.....whatever reason. its usually an OMG moment when Dobbs found himself with time to look at more than two receivers ..... he is usually staring down one with the usual time he got. Things just seemed to get pretty binary against good competition.

Did you look at the passing yards stats too? Dobbs wasn't playing 7 on 7 against every team we played last year. I'm not saying we had a dominant offensive line but it wasn't terrible either. Dobbs wasn't the only rushing yards we had. Kamara, Kelly and Hurd contributed to that total too. Last but not the least yes I watched every game and didn't miss a second.

I don't have a problem with it at all but that may be a Bob Shoop question.

Under Debord our offense gained a lot of yards, yet fans still bashed Debord. Why, the offense was built on big plays by talented skill players. The offense came in spits and bursts. We were not good in third and short situations where we should consistently make first downs. The oline was not able to consistently get a push. Debord could not call a pass play in an obvious passing situation because we could not block it making him look conservative. Too many whiffs and missed assignments led to sacks. So despite great yards per game our offense left the D on the field too much. Our Oline was below average. Say what you will about CBJ but this offensive system has great potential.

Linemen don't get better because they age. They get better through experience, knowledge improved skills and improved strength. They get better each year by working at it. The better the preparation the more they improve. It was clear these guys needed a different coach and some time under that new coach to learn, apply and gel as a unit.

At this point in camp the D should be ahead of the O. If our offense were beating the D, I would be more worried about the D. As we approach game week I hope it evens up.

From the reports it seems coach Warren is getting more out of the Seconday. Very good to see.

Who do you think you are, bringing that well-reasoned thought provoking crap in here???

I've never heard anyone put into words what we all know upstairs so succinctly. All 100% on point.

Stop listening to those people. Bad players don't suddenly get better because they are a year older. We are the least talented on team team at offensive line.

The strength of this team is in the front 7. Defensive line and linebackers. That is why I expect us to have a top 10 defense nationally and the #1 or #2 defense in the SEC.

Bad offensive lineman never get better? So a year in the strength and conditioning program makes lineman no better, but Josh Dobbs is gonna suddenly learn to throw the football accurately at age 23??... You are beyond clueless.

Just curious, you have said "feels like 98", we're going to be so much better than everyone thinks and praised Dormady as a NFL type passer.. which clearly needs a good offensive line for good results.

So which is it??? 98 or bad OL with a pocket passer?

I also said we would have the #1 or #2 defense in the SEC this year. I think we'll be more of a great defense than a great offense.

And my objection was to people who think our o-line is a strength this year or will be elite. I think they can be IMPROVED from last year. Trey Smith being added will do that. But I think they might be only AVERAGE rather than good or elite.

Also gone from hating on QD, saying if Jones wanted to keep his job that JG would be our qb this year, to suddenly acting like QD is a soon to be all-American.....maybe he saw some "tape" of Quinten the rest of us haven't?

I loved what I saw from Dormady in the spring physically. He's grown on me. Sorta like how Alvin grew on me after his first year here. Same with Micah Abernathy last year. As well as Vickers and O'Brien.

When guys improve I change my opinions on them. Also if they don't improve I change my opinion on them as well (see K-Mac).

I just calls em like I sees em.

Dobbs 4 Heisman I love the name!!
What do you have against TK Jr? Have you looked at his stats?
Our offensive line is the weakest? Didn't we break records on offense last year?
Our front seven is the strongest positions group?

I was a big fan of TKjr early on. I loved his instincts. Them he got overweight the last couple of years and lost the little speed he had as a freshmen. Hopefully this year he can get back into great shape and return to the ball-hawk I was such a big fan of after his freshmen year.

If you look at it by talent, we are less talented on the offensive line than we are on the defensive line. The reason the offense broke records last year was because Dobbs was special. It wasn't because of the offensive line. In fact it was inspite of them.
