i've got some other practice information and videos. Mods can merge with Fingers thread.

RTI: Mike DeBord said Jalen Hurd missed practice today because he's battling the flu. They're hoping to have him back at practice Wednesday.

DEBORD: I had great confidence in @Chance_A_Hall and @jackjoneshii. The winning touchdown (vs. UGA) was run right behind them.

DeBord:(on Josh Malone): Talked to him in camp. He said 'I'm going to show everybody.' And he has.

Practice Notes: 10/20 | Rocky Top Insider
PHOTOS: Vols Prepare for Alabama | Rocky Top Insider

Defensive end Kyle Phillips, offensive tackle Brett Kendrick, receiver Marquez North and receiver Johnathon Johnson were among the players who have been banged up recently who were all out on the practice field Tuesday.

North seems to be moving better and better, and it’s more believable that he could play at Alabama on Saturday after missing the past few games. Butch Jones’ official injury update on Monday was that he expects everybody back for the Alabama game except for WR Jason Croom, who hasn’t played at all this season, though he later said that he’d know more Wednesday on the exact status of some of the players. RB Alvin Kamara was the only player in a green, non-contact jersey.

For the second time this year, the simulated crowd noise returned to Haslam Field with the trip to Tuscaloosa looming this week. Tennessee turned up the volume during its punt period in particular as the Vols worked on communicating on special teams.

Passing game: The Vols looked fairly crisp in the passing game during the open portion of practice. You could count on one hand any of the noticeable mistakes – things seemed to be clicking a bit more there in practice than it has the past few weeks.

During its open date Tennessee used tight end Neiko Creamer (listed at 6-3, 233) as a running back so its defense could work on tackling.

A Tampa Bay Buccaneers scout was also in attendance.

Update on Jalen Hurd:

Jalen Hurd had an upset stomach, not the flu, per someone with knowledge of the situation. Nothing expected to linger.

It's nice to see Dobbs hit the receivers in stride instead of throwing it a little high and making them either reach or jump to make the catch. That was the best I've seen him look in a while.

I wonder why every time a football player catches a cold they call it the flu?

My thoughts exactly. If he came down with it this week, and he is expected to be back at practice tomorrow, then he had a cold. The actualflu, i.e., influenza, will knock you out odd a couple games. ..

Jalen does not have the flu - only an upset stomach. Big difference. Have no idea why Debo said that.

Debord was probably referring to the stomach flu also know as 24 hr stomach virus. That is why he said Hurd was expected back by Wednesday.

Dobbs sounded sick in his monday presser to me. I think the flu is going around (just observation). Florida had it against ole miss and it's made it's way to the real UT.

I thought the exact same thing when I listened to him too. I was hoping someone was going to ask him if he was lol

Speaking of which, shouldn't the Gaturds vacate any wins in which Grier played... just wondering

Yes they should but its funny, some Tennessee fans on here thinks what Grier did was no big deal. If the same thing happened to a UT QB, then those same "fans" would be saying we should vacate our wins.
