Tennessee just finished its Tuesday practice during its bye week. Some updates.
— Junior wide receiver Marquez North, who has missed the past two games with back stiffness, was at practice wearing a green no-contact jersey. North has four receptions this season for 38 yards.
— Freshman defensive end Kyle Phillips, who Tennessee coach Butch Jones said was available for Saturday’s win over Georgia but did not play, was also at practice.
— Sophomore right tackle Brett Kendrick was at practice wearing an elbow brace. Kendrick was held out of Saturday’s win as well.

Rapid Review: Tennessee Vols football Tuesday practice
From Wes Rucker:"John Kelly was transported to a local hospital for a precautionary evaluation and was released," Robinson said.

Kelly, a freshman from Oak Park High School in Detroit-area Oak Park, Mich., has served as Tennessee's No. 3 running back but hasn't played much on offense this season, collecting 88 yards on 21 carries.

multiple sources insisted that Kelly’s life was never in danger, and that the ambulance trip to the hospital was strictly a precautionary measure.

The Vols worked in full pads and helmets during an approximately two hour workout on a sunny, early-fall afternoon in Knoxville. Three practice periods were open for reporters to watch, but photography and video weren’t allowed for one of them.

Vols coach Butch Jones will not speak to reporters after practice, because they spoke with reporters earlier in the afternoon.

GREEN TEAM: Just three Tennessee players — sophomore running back Alvin Kamara, junior wide receiver Marquez North and junior cornerback Cameron Sutton — wore green, limited-contact jerseys during Tuesday’s practice. For what it’s worth, all three of them looked OK, and North (knee, back) continues to look better and better but still doesn’t seem to be 100 percent healthy. But he definitely looks better. Senior running back and return specialist Ralph David Abernathy IV also continues to look better and better despite still having a large wrap on a sprained right ankle that has limited him for several weeks.

O-LINE STUFF: Tennessee’s first-team offensive line Tuesday was senior Kyler Kerybson at left tackle, redshirt freshman Charles Mosley at left guard, sophomore Coleman Thomas at center, junior Dylan Wiesman at right guard and freshman Chance Hall at right tackle. The second-team offensive line seemed to be freshman Drew Richmond at left tackle, junior walk-on Thomas Edwards at left guard, redshirt freshman Ray Raulerson at right guard and, again, Hall at right tackle. Sophomore Brett Kendrick, who didn't play against Georgia but when healthy is the first-choice right tackle, was on the practice field but didn't participate in every drill.

Since it is the UTK fall break for the remainder of this week, will the practice schedule change?

Charles Mosley. I think that's a good move but we have yet to see him in action. Scared and excited so we will see if he can add to the OL.

EDIT: I know it is just practice so he may not start.

Wonder what this site is going to be like next year when Bain is actually able to play.... I heard they are building a special practice field for him and Rod Wilks will be his personal mentor....

Wow, a walk on player were on 2nd string (with players like Jack Jones being held out of practice), Blair still could not make 2nd string!

Blair has a nice gig going. Just show up to practice, get beat by freshmen, and enjoy his free education and free meals.

The TV cameras have twice shown him yelling smack when an opposing player goes OB near him. Once against Florida and again against UGA.

So, he has that going for him........which is nice

I did not mean for this to turn into bash Blair, just surprised he is that far down depth chart. I know Larry had said before season he was struggling with mental part, but he did say he worked real hard to get into shape, so thought that would get him further than it has in that regards.

I hope the freshman that did really well vs uga start or see the majority of action next Saturday. You never know with this staff, theyve been known to not start, play, or leave in the best players at times.
