this is what it says in the power 16 this week on espn...

Is it me or has everyone lost confidence in us?
It feels like this season was so antcipated and then it kinda just fizzled out... we've only lost one game!

14. Tennessee (8-1)
The Vols have only four pre-conference games remaining, and they could lose three of them. Western Kentucky, Xavier and Gonzaga will all be NCAA Tournament teams.

Forget the 4- letter devil!

Go Vols!

Crush those Hilltoppers!

We won't lose to WKU, but Xavier will be a fight. I think we can win in Seattle. X will be the toughest of the 3.

We may not like it, but losing to those 3 teams is possible given the inconsistent play of UT so far. It will probably not happen, but it is not out of the question.

the back to back road trips to X and Gonzaga stuck out like a sore thumb BEFORE the season started......

I think this is an accurate assessment. We're not playing well right now, and I wouldn't be surprised if we lost all 3 of those games.

Last year we had a stretch of games (Memphis, WKU, Okla St, Texas), and most of us on here said we'd feel good if they won 2/4. They won all 4, to most of our surprise.

I'd be thrilled if they took 2/3 during this stretch. Ken Pomeroy is predicting we'll lose to Xavier and Gonzaga.

It is possible, but very unlikely. I can almost guarantee we'll shoot lights out in at least one of those games. The inconsistency has swung both ways.

I haven't bought my tickets yet...but my wife and I will be in Cincy visiting her family for Christmas over that weekend, so we're planning going to the Xavier game. I thought about just trying to buy some tickets from a scalper..but since this is my only chance to see the Vols all year, I feel like I want tickets in hand......Should be exciting.

On a brighter note, he did pick us to go 14-2 in the SEC. His total says 12-4, but game-by-game, it's 14-2.

Pomeroy also has Miami going 12-4 in the ACC and currently #1 in the RPI. It sounds like a bunch of computer-generated stuff that will change a lot as this month rolls on.

We will be alright. Pearl will have us ready. We have also beat a very good W. VA team. Watch and see, they will slowly make their way into the top 25 very soon and continuously climb that ladder. We really don't know how good TX is. UCLA found out. I think they are a final 4 team right now. One thing for sure is we are better than we were last year at this time. Enjoy this season with it's ups and downs because it should be the best in UT history.

Vanderbilt is lurking in the wings whenever we visit Memorial Gym in Nashville. They have moved up to # 17 now, 8-0,5 at home wins,2 neutral court, one vistors court. Beat a Wake Forest team the other night that has beaten Iowa at Iowa this year, however Iowa does seem to be struggling. The Vols have to start playing better!

Iowa is more than struggling this year.

This is a small team that has new players learning Pearl's system and their role. IMO rebounding will always be a weakness.

Funny though, when Pearl originally came to UT it didnt take long for the players to learn his system. This time around it seems to be taking longer.
