Powell Valley baseball player urinates on infield during National Anthem

It should be Powell Valley, not Powell. But still, I don't even see why you would do this.

Apparently done on a dare.
I don't want to call this "kids being kids" but a couple decades ago, his parents would have busted his butt, would be kicked off the team for the remainder of the season, and the kid would offer some sort of public apology to all those affected; AND THAT WOULD BE IT.
Nowadays, a minor's lack of judgment is known by all those who have access to the internet and will probably stick with him for many years and there is an outside chance he may have some type of indecent exposure or lewd behavior charges drawn against him.

I really hate to say that I feel for the kid, but in a way I do. I say give him a 5 game suspension, have him apologize publicly, do a little community service, and let his parents take care of the rest at home behind closed doors.

On a side note, it's really funny to see some of the comments on that article saying how he should be deported or how it is such an irreverent act, etc. A kid did something stupid on a dare; how many of us can honestly say we never did the same?

My B. I read it in the Sentinel Friday and I'm pretty positive they wrote Powell only.

My apologies Panthers fans.

I'm sure plenty of people will disagree but disrespecting the national anthem bothers me far less than him whipping it out in front of a crowd of people. Just what little kids and young girls need to be exposed to.

Honestly, he shouldn't be allowed to play baseball anymore. The second you expose yourself to a crowd of people that includes little kids, you should be done. Playing sports is a privilege. He should also be suspended from school for a week or so. Maybe two. I really don't think that's too harsh when you consider the fact that lots of little kids are at those games. The act itself is messed up regardless of the age of the people in the crowd.

What a moron..I would kick him off the team and suspend him form school...wouldn't mind seeing some in juvenile detention as well.

At least he didn't drop a deuce out there.

Stupid kid trick, they happen, it's not a huge deal in the grand scheme.

More stupid than his actions is the pontificating going on about how awful the kid is.

First of all, Powell Valley High School no longer exists in TN. It was combined with Forge Ridge HS to make the new Cumberland Gap HS.This article is not about Powell HS in Knox County. This article is about a kid from Powell Valley High School in Wise County VIRGINIA.

Isn't that what forums are for? Plus, you're now doing the same thing to people posting. The opinions being expressed here don't compare to what the "kid" did. Also, he plays varsity baseball so unless he is a junior, there is a good chance he
already turned 18. Legally he'd be an adult if that's the case.

I bet one doesn't see jail time.

Depends where you do it. If someone exposes themselves in front of kids to take a piss and cops are called, they are going to jail for the night. If they act like a jerk in the process, maybe even charged as a sex offender.

You could always go to your local park and find out.

No matter how you cleverly try to disguise it, I'm not going to meet you at a public park.

Why not?
Indecent exposure is a crime...there had to be kids there...if the kid is dumb enough to do this because of a dare he needs to suffer the consequences, straighten him up.

I don't get the impression that he was exactly flashing the crowd:

Perry said he was not sure if the American flag was raised in the outfield with players' backs to the stands, "but many members of the audience did not see this."

I'm not saying he shouldn't get into trouble and face some consequences, but sending a guy to jail for a prank that didn't hurt anyone seems like overkill. Jail is for real criminals, not annoying and disrespectful jerks.

I never said jail...I said juvenile...either way, that is how life works...learn his lesson now and not later when it will stay with him. JMO.

Police Officer: These kids there just running around wild these days. Them kids last night they stole a cop car.
Bar Man: NO?
Police Officer: Yes! And then they exposed theyselves!
Bar Man: Exposed theyselves?
Police Officer: Yes! They put them wieners on the glass at the Alano Club, while the ladies were rehearsing the Christmas pageant.

You feel for an ignorant kid that urinates for whatever reason while the national anthem is being played and flag displayed. I lost an uncle KIA WWII age 23. I say put this kid in Iraq and let him urinate all he wants. Disrepectul lil punk!
