Watched it again and it looks like the Arizona player said something to Powell before he shot the first attempt.

I know there was a lot of jawing from their players the entire game.

Just seemed like poor sportsmanship to me.

That player showed his true colors and they are trash. Just glad he hit the 2nd one to ice the game.

Something was definitely said…..as Powell turned around…….totally bs.

However Powell has to regroup and not just turn and quickly chuck up a shot.

Glad he made the second.
He can only hold it for so long before it’s called but I think the refs would’ve given him some leeway given the circumstance. Anyway alls well that ends well

Their whole team should be ashamed of themselves. Played dirty most of the 2nd half because they were losing. Shouldn’t be that surprised based on the previous coach.
Idk it was just a scrappy game. They definitely were taking it up to the line at some points but honestly I think it juiced up our team and the fans more. That was a lot of fun to watch

My guess is that the AZ player said something like, "Hold up!". No reason for Powell to hesitate and look in that direction, otherwise, and it wasn't lost on Kennedy Chandler who it was, or likely what it was that was said. He immediately called it out and drew attention to it.

Bush league by Zona, and poorly handled by the refs. Powell should have tossed the ball back to the ref and pled ignorance. Of course, we've all had half an hour to process what we wanted him to process in 2 seconds, so not really fair to him.

Two seconds is generous…def bush league on ‘Zona.

I guess you didn’t see them shove Chandler on multiple occasions. He was getting a steal on the sideline and the big guy on their team tried to give him a little hip check. And at the end whenever they were intentionally fouling gave him a nice shove. And they guy at the end chirping during the free throw. Karma is a dish best served cold. I’m glad JJJ stood over their player after that block. They deserved it for all the talking they were doing.

You wouldn't have loved it if he had gotten T'd up.

I did but they’re college kids, nobody’s getting killed. I would not coach a team to be that way but as a fan it’s fun when there’s some animosity there I think. Felt like a rivalry game

Yeah it’s all fun and games until one of those hip checks turns into a season ending injury. Look at the Trevor Ingles hip check on Kawhi Leonard last season. Looked innocent enough but ended up partially tearing his ACL.

He didn’t deserve to be T’d up. He wasn’t looking at guy. He was looking into the stands. Hence why he didn’t get T’d up.
You just admitted you were glad he stood over the player saying they deserved it, so he certainly was intending to send a message. The game was chippy, and the officials were not going to give much latitude to taunting an opponent. It isn't so much about whether he deserved a T as much as it is about not giving the refs anything to officiate.

Well that’s when it stops being fun 😃

Anyway who cares, everybody’s good, and we beat an 11-0 team! Now to start off the SEC schedule 1-0, though I don’t feel good playing @Alabama even when they’re not nationally ranked
