I agree. I thought Cregg was underrated and a pretty good recruiter. I'm going to be annoyed if Dooley is bringing a guy from LA Tech to replace him.

What is the word on Troop? what would he be? hes a great locker room spirit guy and a damn good x and o guy. Did a great job last year at au and did well at OK st. dont forget hes the reason EB went here.

I think if we can have (somehow) either Garner and Thompson, Troop and thompson, or all 3 it would be incredible for the future!
agree?

Cregg wasn't going to stay,he has been with CLK his last three stops, purge the trash. He was hanging around to get fired and make us pay is contract, then Lame will pick him up. Thompson is the only one I wanted him to keep and looks as though he will stay. His DC at tech has a rep as a defensive guru in the making! Let CDD hire who he trusts and forget Lane Violation and that bunch of clowns!

It's a safe bet Lance stays for sure. If you read his bio he was at LSU the same time as Dooley for at least two years so they know each other. Both also were part of the recruiting process.

Dooley came on board in 2000 and was the TE coach. Lance joined in 2002 as the DL coach and moved to the TE coach in 2003. Dooley became the RB and Special teams coach in 2003

Cregg wanted to leave from what I hear... will probably join K******* at USC

I dont think that is accurate. He is quoted as saying he wanted to stay but Dooley felt like his 'long-term history with Kiffin' resulted in him being asked not to return. That is why Thompson and Garza could stay on. Neither of them were with Kiffin before he got to UT.

I'm not sold on Gunter Brewer. Did Gundy not just hire an Off Cord from Houston ? If Gunter was so good, why did he not just make him Off Cord instead of hiring one ? Much like he did to Trooper yet continued to call plays. Although, I also realize Troops title kept him from paying UT money back for a lateral move.

Just read that Art Kehoe hasn't been hired as our new o-line coach just yet, it said that Georgia's o-line coach Stacy Searles is a close friend of Dooley and could be a candidate. Also said it wouldn't be a surprise to see Jim Chaney return to coaching o-line either. It ended with saying that LA Tech's Pete Perot is highly respected o-line coach as well...

Per Football Scoop.

There are the guys I've seen that could be coming here:

Oklahoma State Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receiver Coach Gunter Brewer
LA Tech Defensive Coordinator Tommy Spangler
LA Tech Defensive Backs/Recruiting Coordinator Terry Joseph
LA Tech Linebackers Coach Stan Eggen
Offensive Line Coach Art Kehoe

That's all I've seen thus far, I haven't heard anything about Trooper but Garner is a long shot I think.

So Dooleys plan is to bring that big fish staff from La Tech to win championships for us. NOT (sickening)

I would say that EB's dad had a LOT more to do with EB coming to TN than Trooper. But I would not be disappointed if CDD brought Trooper back. We could use a few good chest bumps to lift the player's spirits.

Read their bios before comment and always remember:

"Its better to remain silent when ignorant to a subject, then to open that soup cooler and remove all doubt!!!!!

Yeah I'm trying to read about all the championships, and players those guys put in the NFL.Maybe my google is broke today.

Don't have all the info, but Scout.com is reporting that "One Tennessee commitment learned that Jim Chaney will be staying at Rocky Top, that was all Zack Fulton needed to hear." Glad to see some stability remaining on staff!
