Don't I know it.. He ran Jimmy off when he decided this coaching stuff was easy and started trying to 'help' him.. Ever since he has hired only yes men with little puppet strings attached to their limbs...

Fire Jimmy Cheek and David Hart first. Hire a UT person to be chancellor, promote David Blackburn to AD,and then hire Charlie Strong as the Head football coach.:clapping:

Phil was 10-5-1 vs UA and had a winning record vs. UGA.

Sometimes I wish I could run this board like a totalitarian dictator. I would kill every thread like this one and let the season play out more. I'm losing my patience with this stuff.

Charlie Strong is a do not want. Our next coach will be Kirby Smart, if , and that is a big if we fire Dooley before his contract is up.

Long time visitor of Volnation, longer time Vol fan, first time poster. Please go easy, but some of these posts are insane!! Dooley's replacement? Really? What kind of fan are some of you?!? These guys have 7 (8) more games to play!! Dooley is doing a great job..,give him time!! I want to see us win, but the right way, with a great coach who WANTS to be here!!!! I bet recruits love to see all the negativity around here....some of the 'fans' are part of the problem!!! GBO and go CDD!!!!

If this were a preseason thread I would agree with you on Smart. Now I feel that if we had to get rid of Dooley, we could throw the bank at a "big name."

Although I believe Dooley still has a good chance to keep his spot as Tennessee's head coach for next season, who are some of the potential replacements that the athletic department could offer as a head coach next season? Could Jack Del Rio be a possible candidate? He hasn't succeeded at the professional level as some may have hoped but could he succeed at the college level

He is a good coach, but likes the 4-3 base D ( based on what i seen him do in the pros)it won't be wise if he switches.

I agree with your opinion. To add to your opinion, I dislike that Mike Hamilton who was on his way out made the Dooley Hire and that the school only gave him 2million dollars a year salary to hire a football coach. I am not a Dooley fan,but I have a little more faith seeing the team finally playing 4quarters of football.

After,the Kiffin fallout. We should have hired a big name coach, and had an expensive buyout. That would have stopped the bleeding, better football product, faster turn around with better recruits

I say we have a field goal kicking contest at halftime, whoever wins becomes the coach. It worked in Eddie!

CDD will be here next season and UT doesn't have the money to make a change for at least a couple more years.

Keep dreaming though and remember that a coaching change WILL set our program back at least 4 or 5 more years.
