Postgame show

If we know that's a problem, and we do, calling those plays is a bad idea.

I thought we abandoned the run too much and when they clearly loaded up for the run, we ran it.

Our pattern became run on 1st, throw on 2nd and 3rd, punt.

When you have a QB that can't hit the side of a barn 8-10 yards out the defense is stacking 8 men in the box and daring you to throw. No I take that back, praying you throw with JC back there. But on the bright side you're not going to throw a Int out of bounds.

If we were going to change coaches, we'd want somebody with something to teach the team- and that isn't Spurrier. His one real speciality was knowing how to beat TN, and we've got that down pat.
He also beat the living crud out of the SEC when he had some talent.

Well, your post contradicts itself. You say "no way in hell do you blame the coaches" for this loss, then slam how bad of a QB Crompton is, which is true.

So, don't you think the coaches might have put Stephens or Coleman in the game? They would have been hard pressed to have done any worse than Crompton.

So yes, you can blame the coaches.

I never had understood why we throw it first down, then we run it on second down and have to throw it again on 3rd down. Why not run on 1st every now and then, try to pass on second and if its incomplete (more than likely) we should be in a short yardage situation on 3rd down.

If there's a better player at quarterback we'll do it. Sure. If they're not better they need to be sent packing right now.

If they are not any better than him it's scary to think what they must be like. I think you could probably pick people out of the stands after they have been drinking all day and do just as well as what we have been going with.:cray:

Well the show must be winding down. There was the obligatory Trooper Taylor comment. Man, that's a reach.

Sorry, no contradiction here. Where in the HELL are the damn leaders on the field. The coaches cannot suit up and play. That sir is what I am saying.

If we can't get that through our thick skulls then there is no more to try to say. There is a point when we have to hold the players accountable.

Granted the coaches share responsibility here but not for this game.

Crompton makes a no comment on the bad handoff

You know, he said the same thing after the bad handoff against UF....is this just excusing his bad playing and he doesn't want to own up? Or is it legit to want to see the play before you comment? Seems to me if I screwed up I could say ''Well, I screwed that one up, that one's on me. I'll look at the tape to see exactly what happened, but I know I could've done that better.''

Is that too much to ask?

i don't think it's that we abandon the run as much as it is that clawson's offense isn't set up to rely on the ground game consistently to begin with.....which really sucks for us at the moment

Everybody screamed for a hayseed quarterback because they hated the California guys. Look what you got.

Exactly. The same can also be said for those who defend(ed) Crompton by claiming that the backups are not any better. There's no way on earth it can get any worse.

Bottom line Fulmer and Gang were out-coached again. Tuberville adapted and changed QB's when he didn't get results and won. I'm certain when it comes to the ability to adapt and change during the course of the game Fulmer is as stubborn as they come.
