It seems to me that if that scenario plays out, it proves we are better against Mizzou, Vandy and Kentucky (which puts us mid pack in the east). If that scenario plays out it means that we gave UGA, SCAR, MSU and UF all they really wanted. We did that with only 6 or so seniors on the roster, meaning we are still a full year short in the weight room, a full year short recruits, a full year short of better players to practice against.
I am not trying to get moral victories, I am not trying to sunshine pump or Dooley love. I am trying to be realistic. I see a team that couldn't run the ball last year, couldn't run block last year playing against the best defenses in the country and looking pretty good. I see a team that didn't have the gas to play but for about half a game last year, playing down to the wire this year. I see a team that if we hadn't made a switch to a 3-4 defense, would be getting all of the credit in the world this year.
Regardless of Dooley's future here, what he has done he has done with class and with our best interest in mind. He has done everything he could. Maybe he isn't the right man for the job long term, but I can't fault him for his effort, heart and for the foundation he has built.
He gets it ^^^
