Curious where I am on the spectrum. There are scores of vids posted everyday. I hardly ever watch them. When I do, I usually stop it before it concludes.

How do you interact with the videos?

Usually only watch if the claims seem like they are really stretching the TRUTH!!! (and I'm usually right). If I wanted to watch cnn I would turn on the station not click on 48 separate 30sec clips provided with no context. Rest of them just make my finger stronger from scrolling right past.

Usually Ill watch something just so I can point out an inaccuracy or to point out a lack of partisan consistency.....

but also most of them are trash and are offering someone's opinion as facts with very little actual context or information. usually its more of a dog whistle to whoever is being pandered towards.

yeah, if im somewhat preoccupied I never watch.

Ive got friends who send me endless tiktok, insta and Facebook videos that go forever unclicked too

real information is almost always in text format anyway

I hardly ever watch videos posted here. I skip videos posted by users that constantly deluge the forum with videos.

Exactly.

If I do watch a video, it's usually because the user that posted it contextualized their own thoughts with a cogent point.
If the user can't make a point without the video, I don't care who they happen to agree with.

I'm the same way with cut & pasted walls of text. It doesn't take long to figure out who to scroll right past.

I’ll watch if it is of interest to me or I see an underlying problem I don’t understand.
I think the interwebz has been very good at desensitizing people to issues simply by overdoing.
I take breaks from the internet. Peace of mind and all that.
