Maybe I have become spoiled this season with Hooker's efficiency, but watching the bowl games this week I can't believe the really crappy QB play. And I don't think it's because it is lower tier teams. . The gators looked really bad last nite. They are a real SH-T show right now, and I hope it continues for a decade or so. I can't wait to see Hooker and our WRs light up the boilers this week. GBO !!!

Florida might be on their last leg when it comes to returning to NC form. It’s hard to judge them this bowl season due to what they have been thru with their coaching and all. If their new coach turns out to be a bust many of their fans will end up either Alabama or Georgia fans.

Watching the UF/UCF game felt like a Div 2 game. To me - both teams seemed slow and just not sharp. Obviously UF was suffering from all the chaos around their program right now and the second half they just looked ready to get this season over.

Florida to me has the same vibe right now that Tennessee had when their nosedive started. And that’s not just me being a Tennessee fan.

Consider that the extra time for bowl prep allows defenses to put in all sorts of things to confuse or delay reads by the opposing QB. Expect Purdue's defense to be in position for at least two interceptions from breaking off of their normal coverage against certain looks from us.

For bowl games, offenses polish their game, while defenses plot deceptions.

That is a dead on accurate representation of their fan base. Many drifted to UCF just a few years ago.

Rebuild could take 5 years. Let's hope UF isn't patient and fires the new guy too...... Better than that, Let's hope the new guy falls flat! Like 2-10 - 3-9 - 4-8.

CJH scheme causes mismatches all over the field. If they go the tempo that they went against Mizzou and USCe there will be no time for deception. With our receivers speed, they should be running open like they have all year. Watching the UF game made me very happy we have Hooker coming back.

Don't forget the layoff effect. Practice, practice, practice will not reflect "game speed". I expect it will take some time to start to "click". Just hope it's not to long.
I stated the other day that watch out for cancelations of some Music City Bowl functions. One has popped up the Wildhorse Saloon party has been canceled. Expect others, just hope not the game.

Not many of their instate fans. I expect they will migrate to another Fla. team. Just can't see them going for Ga. and Bama. (I wouldn't) Now some of their out of state fans maybe, many of them were likely "follow the winner" types anyway. The same as many of Bama's (many were never seen to wear or sport their Bama support back when Bama was "just another team") As for Ga. around here and other places I can observe there is no such thing as a Ga. fan/supported. (well maybe one now and then)

Be carful!! Based on the past decade or two, we would be one of the "small side" numbers you expect.

The wild card could be timing. Hard to be as sharp as usual after this layoff. May take a few series. Just hope our defense can stop them from long drives until we get rolling on offense.

When Georgia stumbles again that would send them towards Alabama. They might even start being Michigan fans.

I guess that can be true depending on each person's definition of a fan. Some think their trips to the ticket office and to the store to load up on hats, shirts, flags and magnets earns that status. FOR ME you cannot buy FAN status anymore than you can buy patriot status. Fans, real fans, can become discouraged, can allow themselves to reduce their active involvement in gameday activities, avoid water cooler discussions by applying discretion to not double down and join in on their teams shortcomings and failures, even step away for a while from ANY sports involvement, but they cannot go to the ticket office and store and and transition into a REAL fan of another school. Become a fan and then go shopping or you are probably wasting more money.

A high percentage want to publicly dollarize their decision and that should be a clue too. Not sure value proposition is a factor to a real love for and commitment to a program. Loud and proud is good and a real fan indicator, loud and obnoxious not so much. I have had to sulk after losses, am saddened by all of them, but cannot cheap shot anybody in orange for failing in an honest attempt and have never considered sporting any color other than BIG ORANGE no matter where we are on the trend curve.

Christmas day one of my best gifts was a collection of some special hats acquired from the estate sale of a long time and obviously dedicated VOL.

Hats is where it all began for me and my collection.

Hard to believe with that many 4-5* High School players that FU can't recruit better. Hopefully they keep screwing it up.

Thanks ,
but no way do Gator fans jump ship to become Alabama or Georgia fans

No way!

Florida is an easy rebuild job. As long as they don’t have any issues with the NCAA, they should be competing for SEC championships in 3 years. There is too much talent in the state for them to fail if they have a competent recruiter, which Napier is. At worst, he could set them up the way Zook was able to set up Urban. This is is about as bad as we will see Florida.

Florida won’t ever sink to the depths we have seen in recent years because the state produces more legit 4 star talent than any others while FSU and Miami are in similar positions of ineptitude. FSU can’t afford to fire Norvell yet, while Miami just hired a great recruiter who is a terrible coach, maybe the most overrated in the country when it comes to the amount of attention he is paid every coaching search.
