You do realize this is the Op's opinion of who will start right?
CFA is a very talented athlete and if Chandler beats him out, it's because Chandler lives up to the hype of what he is supposed to be.

I don't think you really care though, I think the thread could have been about ice cream, it would have gotten the same kind of response from you.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Now that we know who will be on the team in 2017, how do you think the depth chart will shake out?

Here are my predictions:

(Offense)

QB - Jarrett Guarantano (RS Freshmen) / Quinten Dormady (Junior) OR Sheriron Jones (RS Sophomore)
RB - John Kelly (Junior) / Ty Chandler (Freshmen)

WR1 - Jauan Jennings (Junior) / Marquez Callaway (Sophomore)
WR2 - Brandon Johnson (Sophomore) / Latrell Williams (RS Freshmen)
WR3 - Tyler Byrd (Sophomore) / Josh Smith (RS Senior) OR Jordan Murphy (Freshmen)
TE - Ethan Wolf (Senior) / Jakob Johnson (Senior) OR Austin Pope (RS Freshmen) OR Eli Wolf (RS Sophomore)

LT - Trey Smith (Freshmen) / Drew Richmond (RS Sophomore)
LG - Jashon Robertson (Senior) / Venzell Boulware (RS Sophomore)
C - Coleman Thomas (Senior) / Riley Locklear (Freshmen)
RG - Brett Kendrick (RS Senior) / Jack Jones (Junior)
RT - Chance Hall (Junior) / Marcus Tatum (Sophomore)

(Defense)

DE - Jonathan Kongbo (RS Junior) / Kyle Phillips (Junior)
DT - Kendal Vickers (RS Senior) / Shy Tuttle (Junior)
DT - Kahlil McKenzie (Junior) / Alexis Johnson (Senior)
DE - Darrell Taylor (RS Sophomore) / Austin Smith (RS Sophomore)

LB - Daniel Bituli (Sophomore) / Cortez McDowell (Senior)
LB - Darrin Kirkland Jr. (Junior) / Colton Jumper (Senior)
LB - Todd Kelly Jr. (Senior) / Quart'e Sapp (RS Sophomore)

CB - Emmanuel Moseley (Senior) / Baylen Buchanan (Sophomore)
CB - Justin Martin (Senior) / Cheyenne Labruzza (Freshmen)
NB - Rashaan Gaulden (RS Junior) / Marquill Osborne (Sophomore)
FS - Micah Abernathy (Junior) / Stephen Griffin (Junior)
SS - Nigel Warrior (Sophomore) / Evan Berry (Senior) OR Maleik Gray (Freshmen)

(Special Teams)

K - Aaron Medley (Senior)
P - Trevor Daniel (RS Senior)
KR - Evan Berry (Senior)
PR - Tyler Byrd (Sophomore)

Looks like a SEC Championship Roster. Experience and talent throughout the board. Just need to stay healthy and Guarantano needs to play up to his potential. If that happens I can see us going 10-2 OR 11-1 and being in Atlanta with a legitimate chance of winning the SEC Championship.

Dude you said the 2016 Vols were one of the most talented Vols teams in like 20 years. And that team barely managed 9 wins. Then you have said that because we lost Sutton, Dobbs and Calvin Johnson, I mean Jalen Hurd, that there is no way we can be that good in 2017. 2016 was going to be the first 15-0 team that is loaded with first round NFL picks. Now this team in 2017 has a championship roster? Yeah, whatever.

CB - Emmanuel Moseley (Senior)
CB - Justin Martin (Senior)
NB - Rashaan Gaulden (RS Junior)
FS - Micah Abernathy (Junior)
SS - Nigel Warrior (Sophomore)

That defensive backfield, is very disheartening to say the least.

So many question marks. We have talent but not many proven play makers...

OL should be very good this year if we don't have a stupid amount of injuries again. Hopefully helps out the QB and RB's

Yep. Also, dont forget about him trashing Dobbs and the rest of the team.

Yep, i remember people slamming be when i said i would lose all respect for CBJ if he benched Dobbs after USC and for saying lets not give up on Kongbo when people were wanting him kicked off the team too.

Ty Chandler at second string RB is a neon sign at how poorly Butch has done in regards to building depth. Guess he needs 10 years.

No it's not. Chandler is a blue chip recruit at RB, the easiest position for a freshman to learn and get playing time. Butch would have 2 senior RBs next year if one wasn't a complete head case and the other left early.

I trust Coach Gillespie here...he said we had 3 NFL backs when we had no clue what Kelly could do also said he loved the 3 signees and Hubbs admitted that they had Jordan rated too low..I think we are good at RB

Or the sign of a team that had one highly touted RB transfer and another leave early for the NFL Draft.

OP is right on some, but definitely off on some. Better run this lineup by CBJ before someone starts another prediction thread.

Don't see us winning 9 or 10 with our secondary. I doubt the d line is improved from last year after losing barnett. Who knows if Tuttle will be the same. 6-6 or 7-5.

Wasn't he a junior last year and redshirted?

He would be eligible to apply for a medical hardship waiver...can't redshirt because he played in the VT game...I think he would be a candidate for it if UT applied for one.

Actually Butch agrees with me, hence his desire for Akers.

But he failed. We do not have SEC quality depth at RB and Butch is 4 years in.

But keep making excuses, lifelong attribute I'm sure.

I actually get excited when I see these names. These guys are elite talent. They've just clearly not been coached up at all. With Martinez gone and Coach Warren in, I expect we see better use of said talent on team 121.
