Now that we know who will be on the team in 2017, how do you think the depth chart will shake out?

Here are my predictions:

(Offense)

QB - Jarrett Guarantano (RS Freshmen) / Quinten Dormady (Junior) OR Sheriron Jones (RS Sophomore)
RB - John Kelly (Junior) / Ty Chandler (Freshmen)

WR1 - Jauan Jennings (Junior) / Marquez Callaway (Sophomore)
WR2 - Brandon Johnson (Sophomore) / Latrell Williams (RS Freshmen)
WR3 - Tyler Byrd (Sophomore) / Josh Smith (RS Senior) OR Jordan Murphy (Freshmen)
TE - Ethan Wolf (Senior) / Jakob Johnson (Senior) OR Austin Pope (RS Freshmen) OR Eli Wolf (RS Sophomore)

LT - Trey Smith (Freshmen) / Drew Richmond (RS Sophomore)
LG - Jashon Robertson (Senior) / Venzell Boulware (RS Sophomore)
C - Coleman Thomas (Senior) / Riley Locklear (Freshmen)
RG - Brett Kendrick (RS Senior) / Jack Jones (Junior)
RT - Chance Hall (Junior) / Marcus Tatum (Sophomore)

(Defense)

DE - Jonathan Kongbo (RS Junior) / Kyle Phillips (Junior)
DT - Kendal Vickers (RS Senior) / Shy Tuttle (Junior)
DT - Kahlil McKenzie (Junior) / Alexis Johnson (Senior)
DE - Darrell Taylor (RS Sophomore) / Austin Smith (RS Sophomore)

LB - Daniel Bituli (Sophomore) / Cortez McDowell (Senior)
LB - Darrin Kirkland Jr. (Junior) / Colton Jumper (Senior)
LB - Todd Kelly Jr. (Senior) / Quart'e Sapp (RS Sophomore)

CB - Emmanuel Moseley (Senior) / Baylen Buchanan (Sophomore)
CB - Justin Martin (Senior) / Cheyenne Labruzza (Freshmen)
NB - Rashaan Gaulden (RS Junior) / Marquill Osborne (Sophomore)
FS - Micah Abernathy (Junior) / Stephen Griffin (Junior)
SS - Nigel Warrior (Sophomore) / Evan Berry (Senior) OR Maleik Gray (Freshmen)

(Special Teams)

K - Aaron Medley (Senior)
P - Trevor Daniel (RS Senior)
KR - Evan Berry (Senior)
PR - Tyler Byrd (Sophomore)

Looks like a SEC Championship Roster. Experience and talent throughout the board. Just need to stay healthy and Guarantano needs to play up to his potential. If that happens I can see us going 10-2 OR 11-1 and being in Atlanta with a legitimate chance of winning the SEC Championship.

Would be nice if Richmond would show up so could RS Trey Smith!

It will all come down to QB play though, and that could be great or.....??!!?? :dunno::dunno:

Im........ excited?

You should. That's a lot of really good players across the board at every position.

This should be one of the most fun spring practice and fall camps we've had. We have not had this much talent with this many questions before. I see a lot of really good competition that should prepare us for the season.

Last year I think everyone was a little too comfortable. This year there should be some nice tension at camp.

Trey Smith will be too good to keep off the field. He'll starts at tackle or guard. I don't see anyway he's on the bench redshirting.

I don't expect Richmond to step up. But if he does then all that would happen is Trey would start out at guard.

Roster doesn't look as bad when listed out like that but I'm pretty confident T Smith will not be starting game one over Richmond. Also, I would think Josh Smith would get the nod over Brandon Johnson starting at WR, even though I really like Johnson.

Richmond is occupying a scholarship and required a lot of resources to aquire. I hope you're right and he can beat out Trey, better to have both be that good.

Ty Chandler at second string RB is a neon sign at how poorly Butch has done in regards to building depth. Guess he needs 10 years.

Good job OP. My main concern is FIGHT. Who has got that competitive character and dog in them that when things ain't going our way, they go out and do something about it. We all know JJ got it, even Sheriron Jones got it, TKJr maybe? Who else???

On WR- i would expect to see Bryd, Smith at the same time in some set, CBJ likes those slot type guy and would also think Callaway will start.

O line, i think Richmond starts as well, maybe along with Smith. I thought Kendrick was gone?

On D, Tuttle will start if he is healthy.

TK will stay at safety.

Seventeen Seniors on this list. I see Trevor Daniels & Todd Kelly Jr. being drafted next season. Will be safe and predict an 8- 4 regular season record and a 9- 4 record that includes the bowl game.
With a few breaks, we can win 9 regular season games and a 10th win in the bowl game.
I see loses to Alabama, LSU, Florida & UGA.

Also, I like TK at lb, not sure our coaches are smart enough to do it.

He is too slow for the secondary.

I would not count out CFA at RB #2. I know Chandler is a stud, but CFA was a 4* and a stud in South Florida too. Guy is tough and has speed.

9-3 or 10-2 at best unless JG is an all Americans type player.

You do realize this is the Op's opinion of who will start right?
CFA is a very talented athlete and if Chandler beats him out, it's because Chandler lives up to the hype of what he is supposed to be.

I don't think you really care though, I think the thread could have been about ice cream, it would have gotten the same kind of response from you.

That doesn't make a lot of sense. True freshmen get carries all the time.

QB's are in the wrong order, QD starts
McDowell starts at LB
Kelly starts at S
If Trey Smith starts at LT, Richmond moves to RT

I don't think I would want to start a FR, even the number one recruit in the USA, at LT...leave Richmond there but Smith needs to play, if he is that good we only get him for three anyway.

CFA will get his share of carries. All three RBs will be needed. Josh Smith will start in the slot and hopefully Williams will be a good enough backup to allow Byrd to move to CB. Not sure about Trey Smith starting the first game, but Richmond better step it up for sure. I could see Hall and Kendrick starting at the tackle spots to begin the season. Jack Jones is too good not to start at guard, so I'm not sure about Kendrick playing there.

Phillips starts at DE if healthy. Kongbo is in the rotation at both positions, depending on the situation. All of the DL you mentioned will be in the rotation, so it really shouldn't matter who starts. Kirkland, McDowell, and Sapp start. Maybe Bituli. Gaulden when in the nickel. I could see Byrd and Buchanan starting at CB. Maybe even Osborne. I think TK2 and Warrior start at S.

IDK about making the SECCG, but if there isn't a drop off at the skill positions, and the defense improves like it should, with a little luck this team could be a pleasant surprise.

Nothing wrong with a stud freshmen RB being your backup. Ty Chandler would be good enough to start almost anywhere else in the country.
