Why doesn't the team remain on the field after the game for the playing of the Alma Mater? Several from the student section stay for this. Alot of away teams that bring bands stay on the field for their alma mater. But our players always run to the tunnel. Anyone know why? I think this should change. If the players/coaches thought it was important maybe the fans would be there for end of the game too... just sayin..

They play the Tennessee Waltz at the end of the game, not the Alma Mater. Not even half the students stay for the Waltz, I personally do but most don't see it as a tradition.

Oh yeah that is the song they play at the end. They play the alma mater during the half time show. Ok why don't they play the alma mater after the game too with the players? My point is the stadium empties starting during the 3rd quarter. Usually no matter the score. If their were post game traditions maybe people would stay to see them or take part.

I agree with you. I love listening to the Waltz. I refuse to leave games early. Football season is too short to not take every bit of it.
