Listening to the post game interview I have faith in Heupel. He knew exactly what his team did well and he definitely has a list of things the team will work on over the next week. Butch Jones only had "Coach Speak" to say and Pruitt always sounded like he was in over his head. Heupel sounds like he has a vision and a plan to get there. It's going to take some time but I am optimistic about Vol football for now.

What did he say about qb play?
He's not going to call out players specifically, which is a positive. He was happy with the win, but obviously wasn't happy with the performance as a whole. BG played the deep ball all night. Yes, Milton missed some throws. The WRs dropped some passes. The win wasn't sexy, but we got a convincing win. They made us run and we did that. 1-0!

He did specifically say there were reads where receivers were open and Milton just missed the read. Sounds like a call out to me

I was referring to the post game interview on the field. Not the press conference, which aired after I posted. Whether that makes a difference, I don't know...nor do I care. In a press conference he's going to have to answer questions about specific players.

I’m just excited for when we try to do the quick snap crap against Bama or Georgia and end up down 21-0 after the first quarter.

Yea this is not the year to beat Bama or Georgia. I don't think any rational person thinks this team, with a 1st year head coach beats any worthy team.

So tell us what Heupel should do. You seem to have it all figured out after 1 game.

Trust me, there are plenty of those on this board. Just wait and see what is posted after those games.

I don't know what else people could want Heupel to say in this one. He clearly states the pass game had problems with execution, and both the WRs and the QBs have areas they need to improve at. He also said Milton missed some open guys on some plays which he can't miss if he's out there. It's clear he knows there's a long way to go from today. It's on him and the staff to make that happen. We'll see if they can do that.

I can't argue that, but wouldn't you say it's unfair to wrap Heupel into that mess at this point? If employees where you work based their opinion of you off of past bosses, you wouldn't appreciate that.
You’re not wrong. It’s just I tend to not give our coaches the benefit of the doubt because our administration seems inept at times.
