Posssible Replacements for Coach Pearl

You are kidding right!?

Projected starting lineup:
PG - Golden
SG - McBee
SF - Tatum
PF - Maymon
C - Hall

Subs: McRae (maybe) and Woolridge. Oh yeah, and Tyler Summitt.

Want to rethink your comment?

You're kidding yourself if you think McBee starts over McRae.

Ive been saying it, shaka smart! Would be a great fit for him with up tempo play and even better athletes here once he recruited

Or go after the scary Kansas St. coach Frank Martin....

He reminds of the crazy Brit Vinnie Jones....

Frank Martin is the best! His players love him and he gets after reporters who ask stupid questions. He would be very entertaining.

fyp

Wait... He is winning? I guess enough to get a 12 seed in a weak conference...

Pastner can recruit, but seriously tell me you have faith in his ability to control his players and win on a serial level... super serial level? No way, he is in over his head at Tiger High. No way he is ready for a big time SEC gig! Hahahahaha

Going small on Derrick Williams to deny the ball and keep bigs out of foul trouble definitely showed he was in over his head against a Top 20 Arizona team. Playing zone, even though he is a man first D coach, when in foul trouble or even to show a different look, definitely shows he is in over his head. Calipari played exactly 5 minutes of zone his entire 9 years at Memphis, even when it would have been prudent to at times. Winning 70% of his games his first 2 years, reaching an NCAA tournament in his 2nd year, all while rebuilding a decimated program shows he is in over his head. All of this in a league whose 9th place team beat the SEC champion and Sweet 16 bound Gators.

You're assuming McRae will be here next season. This would be a great time for him to transfer. Also, there was a reason CBP played McBee over McRae even if not obvious to us.

Good post.

In addition, we will face a 5-year postseason ban, Japan's reactors will melt down and destroy all life on the planet, and the sun is dying.

1) Stevens - He may be happy there, but a lot bigger salary might make him happy as well. I wonder what we can offer him above what he is making now.

2) Anthony Grant - Double bonus points for taking him away from Bama. If he is not happy there, maybe it is possible.

3) Bring in another mid-major coach with a lot of fire and ability. Give him what he needs to succeed and get out of the way and let him do it.

According to ESPN's subscription area, Stevens is more than likely not going to leave Butler.

CoachingNewsOnline.com reported Tuesday that coveted Butler coach Brad Stevens is likely to remain at the school, despite the endless string of interested schools that are undoubtedly going to come calling once the Bulldogs' season ends.

...

If Stevens is ever going to leave Butler, there probably won't be a better time than now. But there's something to be said about loyalty, especially since it's almost entirely absent in today's sports world, and we're pretty sure many college basketball fans would love to see Stevens remain right where he is.

Gregg Marshall - Wichita St.

Watch them in the NIT, great D, disciplined offense. Has built teams everywhere he's been.

Not criticizing your choice, just want to point out that if we don't get this right, you may have coined our new slogan. "Tennessee Vols -- Watch Them in the NIT!" I'd buy the t-shirt.

whats the realistic likelyhood that Lawrence Frank or Larry Brown would give up their NBA ticket for UT? People are on that bandwagon, and it has me intrigued....

Listed earlier, ITT:

Frank - 5%
Brown - .00001%

I might have missed the exact number of zeroes on Brown, but you get his point.
