Posssible Replacements for Coach Pearl

You seen the turnaround jobs done by Marshall and Warren?

the former hasn't taken the shockers to the tournament in any of his 4 seasons. I'd call that underproduction.

The latter has only 6 seasons of head coaching experience and has never won more than 20 games in a season. Mediocrity may be an overstatement.

Keep in mind, when CBP was hired he was coming off of a sweet 16 run.

Oregon, Virginia, Indiana, a few examples of schools with great facilities and large paychecks that have been struggling to have a stable b-ball program, although I think Indiana is about to turn the corner in the next few years.

But how have the teams grown since they got there? The Shockers have improved every season and have gone from 11-20 to 24-7.

Warren took Jacksonville from 1-26 to two straight conference titles and five straight top threes.

I think Marshall is good, but has not been successful enough at a mid major to warrant a big time BCS job like Tennessee has become under CBP.

Warren is winning in the ASun, which is among the worst conferences in the country, and doesn't have a resume even remotely worthy of major job consideration. A nice turnaround of a miserable program, which should be rewarded with a job in a mid major conference. Just not at our level, imo.

That's why he's not near the top of the list. But there's no reason to think he'd wallow in mediocrity, since he's done so well where he is. He's done enough good things that it's reasonable to have him in a top ten, even if it's more likely that he'll have to go to the Missouri Valley or Colonial or something before he gets a BCS job.

Not calling names, but if you've been on here long, you know what I'm talking about. If the shoe fits wear, if it doesn't, don't.

I would only call Bruce Pearl. Because he is staying here at UT!! We're gonna make a deep run to the Final Four and all will be forgotten!!

I don't think he is anywhere near top ten consideration.

And playing in the in the CIT is absolutely wallowing in mediocrity, maybe worse, no matter what program you are. He has taken the program from dismal to mediocre, and not past mediocre, which is good and possibly warrants a mid major job, but not anything remotely close to a major job.

If Pearl is out. Name the coach you want.

Tubby Smiith wants back in the SEC. Anderson sounds happy at Missouri Gillispe is out there .

Who will it be ?
