Second that...Shaka Smart would be a great hire IMO. I love the full court press "havoc" style of play that VCU runs

Unless Grant is unhappy, which doesn't seem to be the case at all, I don't see you guys stealing him. Mal Moore is very happy with the hire and I think he'll match anything you offer him.

I know many of you are going to talk about UT being a better basketball program, and you would be right, at least recently. But Bama and UT historically have almost identical tradition in basketball. Grant knows he can win at Bama.

I'd be very surprised is all I'm saying.

Hmm.. That's interesting. I had actually heard some rumors that he wasn't happy in Bama but I didn't know if it was true. I appreciate your input though. :thumbsup:

Interesting. I'll take your word for it. I don't know. Just speculating. Shaka just seems to be the type UT looks at.

Did you really write the first sentence about mine missing one word? Seriously?

It doesn't make sense to you, but those who have the capacity to reason can understand that I want him here for more than one reason and don't want ever to have to have a coach leave for being called out as a sleazeball by the AA.

I don't want a sleazeball. I want him not to have been one. I want him to continue winning and molding his philosophy to one that could be genuinely competitive at the highest levels. I don't want to have to deal with the AA. I don't want to be a laughing stock for the rest of America. I don't want to be scrolling at the bottom of ESPN incessantly.

There are hordes of reasons this sucks badly enough for me to prefer the status quo. Alas, it didnt work that way.

This is fair. If you are saying that he is a sleaze ball then you wouldn't want him. I'm not sure if he is or isn't but he made a wildly ignorant decision that ended it for him.

The way he changed last year and the defense we have played the past 2 years(when interested) had me hoping for much greater things in the future. Bruce's stupidity ruined it for him, but I'm not convinced it has to go down the crapper for our basketball program.

We won't go down the crapper. He should be commended for reawakening a fanbase that dickeyless killed.
