IMO could be Tyler Byrd. I know he is a FR but that kid has gamebreaker written all over him. He has shown the ability to go in the middle, make good catches and plays. With his shiftiness and speed, he just might be the X factor for us.

What say you VN?

Byrd has impressed me a great deal, he fights for extra yards like few WR's do...not afraid of contact, good hands.

He will go down as one of at least 10 best WR in UT history IMO..which is no small feat at WRU!!

Will also be playing on sundays, no doubt in my mind.

Croom is due a break out game. His career has been stagnant and it's time he step up.

My goodness we've been saying this for 4 years. Career will finish as a minor role player which is fine, any contribution to the team is needed. But hasn't lived up to what many thought he could be, me included.

No criticism, but I wonder in hindsight if the staff would have started him on defense with Sutton's injury and Martin's troubles.

TE's regardless need to be utilized more. 90% of the time those passes are wide open, especially in the middle of the field

Quite frankly all the tools in the shed need to be used in the game.
Croom and Wolfe in the middle.
Byrd and AK on the edges
Hurd and Kelly between the tackles
Roll the pocket for Dobbs
Jennings and Malone over the top
and finally if all that fails: The annexation of Puerto Rico, FTW.

Gonna go out on a limb, but if he hasn't done it yet, I'm guessing we won't see a breakout game from him now.

Hes more of a question mark than an X factor. When hes wide open its a drop but he will come out of nowhere and make a solid catch. Tennessee will need him this week though. Hopefully in a double tight set, get them flowing one way and let Croom slip out wide open for 6

TSIO is where boys become men and men become legends. Tyler Byrd is a good candidate for this week.

It's been 5 years....don't think a breakout game is imminent.

could've sworn I saw a light come on in the fourth...still hope for him to come through in a big way...all hands on deck...:salute:

GO VOLS!

Very disappointed in TE play this yr. Drops all over the field. Yeah some right behind them but others right in their hands.

Croom is what he is now. Average TE with bad hands.

Byrd is a play maker. Need to get him involved more. Smith is a wasted down. I thought he'd be better in slot. He's worse and looks slow

The future looks bright with Byrd, Kelly, Jennings and company. I know we have the weapons to out score Bama. I realy thaught Wolf was gonna breakout this year though

not used nearly enough in this style offense. Many times the middle has been ripe for the picking with a TE and nothing is done.

No offense intended, but forget Croom. Forget PW. Forget Josh Smith. Forget Wolf. We have an alpha male receiver and his name is Jauan Jennings. Jennings needs 5+ more targets per game and Byrd needs 2 or 3 more. The others should get 2-3 targets per game each total.
