Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect? Will Maymon be back? Will Hubbs start?

1 - Trae Golden / Travon Landry
2 - Robert Hubbs / Josh Richardson / Damontre Edwards
3 - Jordan McRae / Armani Moore / Quinton
4 - Jeronne Maymon / AJ Davis / Quinton
5 - Jarnell Stokes / Yemi M

My guess

Hopefully we land Darius Thomson. He would back up trae and may even force trae into some minutes at the 2. We could really use him.

I think hubbs wont start at first but may later on in the season. Here is how I see it shaking out.

Pg
Golden (Thompson) Landry
Sg
(Mcrae) Hubbs/Reese
Sf
Richardson/Moore/Edwards
Pf
(Stokes)Chievous/Davis
C
Maymon/Yemi

If Stokes and Mcrae come back and we get Thompson we will have one of the deepest teams we had in a long time. Don't be surprised if Demontre Edwards doesn't find back and is that one scholarship that opens up for Thompson.

Yea this is what I figured the lineup would be. Hubbs will definitely start over Richardson

Don't agree with this at all

He might end up with more minutes, but i think the Junior gets the starting nod over the Freshman. At least to start off the season, unless Hubbs goes off early

I'm not sold on that...Richardson is a 2 year starter and a guy Martin loves...remember you have to play defense to earn a starting spot, Hubbs will have to pick that up quick if he's gonna take Richardson's spot.

IMO you want Richardson starting. Whether it's over Hubbs or McRae. We are going to need a defensive player out there with Hubbs/McRae...1) we don't know yet how well Hubbs is at defending, we know what we got with McRae...2) we could use that scoring spark off the bench.

Complete negative on that. Hubbs will play lots of minutes. Maybe even "starter minutes" by the end of the season. But Richardson and McRae will start on the perimeter. Hubbs will be a scoring spark off the bench like McRae use to be before he became a starter.

I don't see Martin benching our most consistent player. Hubbs will play starters minutes but probably won't start imo.

BTO, how do you start Richardson over Hubbs if Hubbs is as good as advertised? We need a pure shooter on the floor and he may be our best option. I love Richardson's hustle, but I am betting that Hubbs will be able to outscore him immediately.

That will all be determined by how good Hubbs really is. If he comes in and can shoot like he is touted, he will be on the floor a lot.

Hopefully, Thompson signs and we have a backup for Golden too when he goes in the tank. Thomspson seems to be a great outside shooter too.

It's not all about scoring with Martin, why do you think McRae was coming off the bench last year and the start of this year behind Mcbee?? McRae is a better scorer than both Richardson and Mcbee put together but he was benched in favor of both guys.

As far as pure shooter, I'm not sold that's what Hubbs is. I see him as pretty similar to McRae, just a bit stronger already and possibly a bit more explosive. The outside shot is there, but not pure in the sense of a 45% knock down shooter, I see him around the 35% mark IMO.

I hope it ends up being something like this because I hope Hubbs and Thompson do well. I think Golden would be a great shooting guard so I tried to get him some minutes there. I had a hard time finding Richardson and Moore minutes. Hopefully we get Thompson.

PG: Golden 20/Thompson 20
SG: Hubbs 25/Golden 10/Richardson 5
SF: McCrae 30/ Richardson 10
F: Maymon 20/ Moore 10/Davis 10
F: Stokes 30/ Maymon 10

Total minutes by player:
Golden 30
McCrae 30
Maymon 30
Stokes 30
Hubbs 25
Thompson 20
Richardson 15
Moore 10
Davis 10

Only thing I may change is 5 less or Thompson and I am coming to the realization Maymon likely wont be a 30 minute guy hopefully 25, so there's 5 more there. Give those to josh probably would be my guess.

If Hubbs is starting over JRich then he'll have to be a pretty good defensive player. It's hard to come on to Martin's team in the first year and start over a guy who is your best lock down defender on the perimeter.

1) J-Rich/McRae will start and should. I don't care if Hubbs is the reincarnation of Dwayne Wade.

2) Armani Moore is going to get minutes.

3) Maymon will be a 20-25 minute a night guy, not 30.

PG- Golden 30/McRae 10
SG- McRae 20/Hubbs 20
SF- Richardson 30/Moore 10
PF- Maymon 25/Chievious 10/Moore 5
C- Stokes 30/Yemi 10

Has anybody thought about Yemi being the one that might be let go? I personally love his hustle and defense but he gives us little to nothing on the offensive end.

Martin is willing to keep that give and take. I think he likes what Yemi brings in energy, just like Josh on defense. I could see Yemi's offensive game improving a little like Josh did this year. Not as much, but a couple of points a game.

If Stokes leaves after 2014, he'll have to recruit two centers to play. He needs Yemi. I've also heard Yemi loves Knoxville, so I'll be shocked if he transfer. Kenny Hall is leaving. Maymon can't play the 5. We aren't bringing in a center. Yemi we'll see minutes next year.
