I remember reading on Rivals(some free info) that some major talent are giving ND some serious thought. Anybody think they keep Wies to ensure that potential Blockbuster class then fire after next season or do him dirty and fire him day after Signing Day?

Do you think Urban Meyer, Brian Kelly, or whoever else they want to throw $5 million a year at would have a more difficult time recruiting? ND has all of the built in advantages to bring in top level recruiting classes, and I assure you that won't save Weis.

He has recruited well enough to win 10 games a year, with their schedule.
He hasn't coached well enough.

why keep someone just so you can get a top tier class? Without a coach, top talent is useless...

Notre Dame is a pretty prestigous school. I am sure major talent is gonna come in no matter who the coach is

most schools will allow unconditional release and transfer if a coaching change occurs, so that theory wouldnt matter.

Besides coaches want their own players. A coach like CUM will want his own recruits not Weis's. We saw the same thing happen at UT last year.

I know that but there were some of the Elite of the Elite considering: CB Joyner, OT Henderson, WR Prather with friend S Cooper. Just saying but to get to a BCS, those are who you need and since being on Volnation, uncertainity with a staff can cause players to look. Sothey could bring Lombardi and still not get a class like that. Just a theory not a comment I think will happen thus the title.

Another thought is that we all know that the Spread scores beaucoup of points but does not pay beaucoup of dollars in NFL contracts? That should go across Offensive players at least, just saying.

Notre Dames problem is they have top talent on offense and no talent on defense. I don't like Notre Dame at all, and I have to say it is even painful for me to watch their defense get drummed week in and week out. They have lost too Navy twice now in recent years.

Kelly will not be ND's next coach. Way too many skeletons in his closet.

As for ND their talent is greatly overated. Look at their defense. Pathetic. Look at their two starting safeties, two of the slowest, most unathletic safeties you will find anywhere in the country. #22 (McCarthy? Smith?) for them is one of the worst tacklers I've seen in college football. Not only can he not tackle but he is takes horrible tackle angle.

Hey, isn't that artist dude in your avatar deceased? That's ironic because My wife and I was discussing him the other day but forgot his name.

They have not been able to get quality offensive and defensive linemen either. This is the biggest problem for them, they have the skill people needed to compete at a high level but they do not have the linemen they need.

They'll keep him for one reason...$$$$. I know Notre Dame is loaded but even they have limits. His buyout, plus at least another 3 million per year for a top-level coach is large.

#22 is Harrison Smith. He is the kid from Knoxville. He is actually a very good athlete. He just isnt a very good football player.

If their boosters are putting significant pressure on the university to make a change, it will happen. When Weis loses to Stanford this will be a done deal.

I know for a fact that one ND booster has said that Weis's buyout is pocket change and will not hold the program back from making a change if necessary.
