I do find it amusing that at this point last year, people were being chastised on this board for being optimistic. Now they're being chastised for being pessimistic.:glare:
Because most informed and educated people last year could see the demise of the program and it crumbling before our eyes. Now we have a bunch of people who have no clue expecting this guy to come in and win with garbage that was left over.
BS! A Vol fan is a Vol fan. Either you root for them to win or you don't. No matter who the coach is or what the record is. If you rooted for them to lose last year just to get Fulmer fired, you aren't a Vol fan. If you are rooting for them to lose this year in order for Kiffin to look like a bad hire, you aren't a Vol fan. Nuff said.

Because there were some people last year with an IQ below mayonnaise that refused to see the downfall of the program under The Fat Fired Coach. Those same mental invalids are now expecting CLK and staff to be able to win 10 games with the feces that The Doughnut Stuffer left in his wake.

How is posting a thread about the worst possibility for the Tennessee football program after 8 games REASSURING to you? I just don't get it.
I'm not personally attacking you, but I'm honestly fed up with the Crompton crap and the hating on the program at the moment. The Vols are 2-3 and have lost to teams that have a combined 13-1 record (lost by a combined...18 points, right?)
Those guys in that locker room try their HARDEST to win ball games and make the university, its fans, and their families proud. The very LEAST that we can do is support them, good or bad. If you're honestly thinking "wow, we could be 2-6 after 8 games" then you better just start being a Florida fan or a USC fan because if it's perfection you want then that's about as close as it gets.
A lot of Vol fans are so dang demanding, and when they have everything it is NEVER enough for them. People were upset Peyton didn't beat Florida. People trashed Casey Clausen though he was one of the best QB's to play at Tennessee. Heck, people even trashed Rick Clausen when he helped will this team to the SEC title game.
Everyone gets it...Crompton is "terrible". Nick Stephens deserves his shot (which he got in fall practice, but that's another story). Yada yada yada.
As a fan though, what goes on in your mind to automatically think that this team can be 2-6? Are you trying to be a realist? I really would not want you on my team in sports because if we didn't have the BEST then we probably should just shut it down because we would lose....right? UT doesn't have the best...and not even anyone "a little bit good" as some would say. Crompton is the better of the two QB's---so live with it.
Again, it's very frustrating that this fan base is so quick to judge all of its players...we need to support them 100%. So please don't hesitate to do so....or maybe you are by thinking they will be 2-6?

Agreed, but there are also those that were far too hard on the "Fat Fired Coach" and don't realize what he did for UT. Sure he faded over the past few years. They all do. Sure it was time for him to go. But, he did bring us a National Title that we would have NEVER gotten with the drunkard before him. And, those same people are making excuse after excuse as to why this team this year has underperformed IMO. I agree that we are low on talent, but we DEFINITELY should have won the game against UCLA with or without Crompton and we could have easily won the game against Auburn. But, those people refuse to think that Kiffin could possibly not be doing that great of a job. Sure, he's recruited good so far. But, how many of those recruits decommit if this train runs off the track and we end up 3-9? Just saying......
LMAO! If Fulmer would have pulled that offensive gameplan he would have been hung in effigy!lol:

This is the kind of B/S I would expect from a fan of a subpar team like Georgia Tech. I am sure they don't expect much and are happy to win 6 or 7 games a year. This is TN FOOTBALL and we expect to win 10+ games every year regardless of talent on the field!!! If I want to enjoy a nice afternoon of football and sun I will become a KY fan (or Georgia Tech).
Is that you conceding that you know absolutely nothing about UT football other than what the interior of the Fired Coach's colon looks like?

I venture to guess I have forgotten more about UT football than you will ever know. The sheer stupidity of anyone not realizing what good that CPF brought to the University in itself is reason enough for me to believe that I know more. Most of the people that frequent this board weren't even a twinkle in their Daddy's eye when I was suffering through the days of Battle and Majors. Fulmer took us to the next level. Sure he fell from grace. They all do. ie Bobby Bowden. But you cannot discount what levels he took us too in the first years of his reign. I hope that Kiffin takes us back there, but the jury is still out on whether he can or not.
Yea he fell from grace alright. He has left this program in shambles, keep in mind this is a program he so loved. And for that reason, along with many others, I despise everything about the man.
And as far as you suffering through Battle and Majors.. Just because you suffered gives you no right to get on here and reciprocate that to fellow board members by having to read your clueless and thoughtless drivel.
