Positve tweets/comments about Coach Jones from recruits and players.

The kid won't even throw the ball man. It's due him being scary and Saban doesn't trust his QBs to be playmakers.

Im not a Bama fan but to be fair AJ was the top rated qd in the sec. He had a 67% completion precentage and threw for 2700 yards. With 26 td's and only 3 interceptions. This with only 1 above average receiver. It's not that Saban doesn't trust him but with Lacy and Yeldon you don't need to much more out of a qb. That's just smart football.

I recall a 45-yard TD pass to Cooper to win the SEC championship and put Bama in the national championship recently.

I said when he's under pressure. That was off a play-action pass dude. Where the WR was 1v1 and really wide open to an extent. Corner bit on the play. McCarron won't throw many passes versus any tight coverage. Sometimes a QB has to make those type of throws man.

A lot of quarterbacks would have those kind of stats if they were throwing against a defense overloading the box to stop the run. McCarron is a very average quarterback

Give Bray his schedule and running game man. Any Bama fan will tell you he's not that good. He's a game manager which is all that Saban wants. Tennessee recruits playmakers at QB and that's why Ferguson needs to line up in Orange.

Almost every QB is terrible with a pass rusher in his face. That's a totally ridiculous thing to knock him about. And what's more a more high pressure situation than game on the line, needing 7, and not knowing if you'll get the ball back?

You also said that Saban doesn't trust him to make a play. With the national championship on the line, he called for a bomb to Cooper. He did the same against A&M and LSU this year. McCarron made some huge throws against a stout LSU D in the championship last year.

I don't think McCarron has any pro-potential, but he's made huge plays while he's been at Bama.

I never said they wouldn't. What I basically said was he does what is ask and does it well. I'm not saying the guy is HOF material but he is a very good college quarterback in the system he is in. Just seems strange to be talking about how bad the top rated qb in the SEC is that's all.

How's Bray do under pressure? Just asking

I do agree Ferguson needs to be in Orange.

Bray's under more pressure before every game than McCarron is under in any game. Bray's not looking for the sideline or shrinking in the pocket. Bray doesn't always make the best decisions under pressure but he's no coward after he gets hit. McCarron was a none factor versus LSU when they played tight coverage. Had Bama not been pounding UGA with the running game McCarron was about to quit again. He was taking sacks and throwing dumb passes.

Update. Just talked to someone. UT is firmly committed to bringing Riley to UT. Coach Graham has been a big factor in this for Riley from the very beginning. Riley's dad also told me some of the Riley's older highlights on YouTube has his older brother Zach in them.

Kiffin wanted McCarron MUCH more than Bray. In fact McCarron was tempted to visit, but Saban put a stop to that real quick. Just saying... :hi:

The only concern I have is his recruiting. He's never been anywhere longer than 3 years, in 20 years of coaching, and has never had to play the kids he recruited.

80-90% of Cincy's players were recruited by the previous coach...

I'm worried, no lie

This is awesome! Have you guys heard of the new construction changes at Neyland Stadium that Cheek, Hart, and the BOT are planning with the new hire of Butch Jones? They are going to improve the view of the Tennessee River from certain points on campus by removing the upper deck at Neyland. There's no need for 100,000 plus seats anymore.

This hire is a joke. Listen, he's a solid coach, but can anyone honestly say they are excited for the spring game, that he will generate immediate excitement on the recruiting trail, that he will bring a buzz back to our program, that he will increase or unite our fanbase, and the answer is no!!! He is not a proven winner in a big time conference. The Big East is the laughing stock of the BCS, and we were dying to hire coach from there. He's beat 1 top 25 team. I'm sorry, but this hire should unite us, not divide us. It should excite us, not cause us to say common guys let's give him a chance!

I've always supported my university as a lifelong vol fan and alumni, but I've had it. This decision not only hurts our program, but it hurts the city of Knoxville economically. Knoxville had a buzz when I went to college here in the 90s. Game days were exciting. Now it's a beautiful place to live with great people and complete apathy for a once proud program among very proud fans.

Bump for giggles

Yeah, Kiffin also wanted Scroggins, didn't want Tahj Boyd, and now has 2 QBs at USC that could barely move the ball against Hawaii

Agreed. Fulmer, Dooley, etc., passed on tremendous players, yada, yada, yada. Butch will pass on tremendous players as well. It happens. My point was that McCarron is no stiff. That is it. I HATE Kiffin more than anything.

Sure hope VolPride1998 will post more often and continue to provide that insight on the program. Just outstanding ....
