Damn good points by Overstreet and Big AL

I went from wondering if Joey and the receivers would just be bad to wondering if we will see a drop off next year lol. I didn’t realize we were still so thin on D. Not sure how, because I thought we had been recruiting a lot of DBs and DLs.

Anyways to play that thin against a Georgia team is progress, and progress is progress. Sure they were down some guys too, but they have had incredible recruiting classes for years and they are one of the elite teams in the country. So our depleted team hung with their depleted team.

Also, the same Georgia that has won year in and out at an elite level often has some bad games before playing us. They have always risen to the occasion and this time it should not have been enough.

We are much better than anyone should have realistically expected without any proven positions across nearly our entire offense. I just think we still have some depth issues on D.

We will see how things go. We have some tough games ahead of us, but we will see some awesome football this year, that’s for sure!

UGA had to play the game of their life plus have some luck to win. Most UGA fans I've seen online say they got lucky. I really feel good about our team.

Here are SIGNIFICANT reasons to be positive moving forward:

David Sanders
Jaxson Moi
Rickey Gibson III
Jermod McCoy

Imagine how much better we can be when these guys return.
Don’t forget Hobbs! Really missed him an Moi yesterday. I’m not sure how many snaps Eason played but I bet it was plenty. Saw true freshman Utley playing some snaps. Tough training for a true freshman to go against that Georgia OL.

Is it true Rickey Gibson and McCoy may not be back this year ?
I don’t expect McCoy to play until November and then it will be limited. Recovery from ACL surgery is different for different folks and the main focus has to be not doing anything that could reinjure that knee. He’ll have to look at what’s best for him. If he’s coming back next year that’s great but if he decides to go pro he may just rehab and train this season. Might play a few series each game in November then use the bowl game to show the scouts he’s fully recovered.

I'm certainly happy we picked up Hood via the portal and signed Redmond as well the other guys. Our secondary is pretty decent IMO. Stockton made some great throws but for the most part out guys had ‘em covered.

The thing is for our guys to not let Georgia beat them twice.
Gotta build on what happened and focus on UAB. The rest of the games will take care of themselves 👍

I will not be positive until I see them on the field. Every year Heupel has TOO many injuries that affect the outcome of big games. You can not win without your best players on the field.

I'm having a really difficult time understanding how, a team with the $$$ Tennessee has to pay players, we could ever be thin at any position.

I hear ya but its because of NIL and the portal. Kids aren't going to wait on the bench when they can play immediately elsewhere. They were actually talking about this very thing on one of the sports shows that I listen to (might've been On3 can't remember) about how basically even the historically heavy hitters like Bama and Georgia don't have the depth that they used to.

Because everybody struggles to stockpile talent in the age of unlimited transfers. The Sophomore or Junior that used to be a 4th LB or 3rd CB in the SEC now looks at the depth chart and bails to go start for a Big 12 school.

Watched the show this morning. John had a good point-- Harbaugh went 0-5 against OSU before finally beating them and he won a natty. Fulmer went 0-5 against Florida before finally beating them and he won a natty. Sometimes a team gets the better of you for a bit before you can get over the hump. Josh will be fine.
