what is we these chowder heads that will take cheap shots at a team but won't disclose what team they are loyal to ( probably because they have no loyalty or class) and why do they want to get personal ( must have been abused as children) where you ugly and no one would play with you ? is that the problem?

3 YEARS AGO - JOHN CHAVIS SAID THAT HIS 3 LINEBACKERS WERE THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY, AND PROBABLY THE BEST TENNESSEE HAS EVER HAD AT ONE TIME. SNAP, CRACKLE, POP, AND YOU HAD TO SET THOSE BOYS DOWN AND LET THEIR TWIGS HEAL FOR THE YEAR.

LAST YEAR IT WAS THE GREATEST OFFENSIVE LINE IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD (MY EMPHASIS). THEY COULDNT RUN THE BALL TO THE SIDELINE FOR THE REFS TO WIPE OFF THE RAIN.

THIS YEAR, IT WAS THE FRESHMAN QUARTERBACKS. AND THIS STARTED WHEN THEY WERE SIGNED. THESE GUYS WERE NOT IN THE TOP TEN. AND FULMER ACTS LIKE HE SIGNED CHRIS LEAK AND PUT HIM OUT THERE AGAIST UNLV PEST CONTROL COLLEGE.


THE PROBLEM: THE COACHING STAFF AT TENNESSEE IS OVERATING A PARTICULAR SEGMENT OF THE TEAM EACH YEAR KNOWING FULL WELL ITS ALL HYPE.

CHAVIS FINALLY SAID AT THE END OF THE SEASON THREE YEARS AGO, WE "OVERESTIMATED WHAT WE HAD" AND WE KNOW THOSE LB'S WILL NEVER PLAY PRO BALL

THOSE QB'S THIS YEAR WOULD NOT START ON ANY OTHER TEAM IN THE SEC AT THE FIRST OF THIS YEAR EXCEPT MAYBE MISSISSIPPI STATE. AND THATS A BIG "IF"

Eddie Moore is in the NFL
Simon and Burnett are still in college. Both will most likely be in the NFL.

I've got to disagree with you there. Going from one of the worst offenses statistically in the SEC in 2003 to one of the best offenses statistically in 2004 shows a drastic improvement from last season.

?? Again, please provide quotes. All have heard or read Fulmer say was that the Freshmen qbs gave the Vols the best chance to win. I heard no such guarantees from Fulmer.

Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Miss State would love to have these 2 quarterbacks. With Croyle's injury, Alabama wishes they had one too.

Again, I've not read any such quotes from Fulmer. You seem to know him personally if you've got all this information that the rest of the media doesn't have? Regarding the loss, I can list every team in the SEC and its worst loss in the last 5 seasons and I think you'd be surprised that every team has a few bad ones. Its called football. I don't know any programs that have won 100% or even 80% of their games in their history.

I'm not too worried about SC and ND. I'm more worried about teams that are successful passing the ball.... or that are successful on offense.

All these problems and still an .800+ winning percentage.

Truth Teller, most educated football fans realize that a team will not go undefeated every year for decades and decades. Teams are going to lose....period. Look at LSU coming off their NC and are 1-2 in the SEC. Should LSU fire Saban? I think not, football is a game of cycles and you will have up years and down times. You have to look at the big picture. With that said is our program where I want it to be right now...no. However, I can look around the country and there is no perfect team out there. I just can't understand when fans are ready to fire the whole coaching staff after a loss. It's absurd. You tell me someone who has done better than Fulmer over a 10 year period at one school with as little in state talent as Tennessee.

As for the alleged Fulmer quotes and "overestimating".....who really cares (asuuming it's even true which I don't believe it is). He can say whatever he wants or he could be like Lou Holtz and come out every week like we have no chance to win. It's pretty meaningless regardless.

Please post about something factual and intelligent besides a bunch of heresay and conspiracy theories.
