Since the board has had an overwhelming wave of negativity following this game, here's some positives.

1.) Defense was pathetic from beginning to end, yet we won.

2.) Offense was pathetic for 3 quarters, yet we won.

3.) Shockingly, we won the game with Special Teams. Lincoln looks like he's coming around.

4.) Errors on offense are correctable. Crucial penalties and dropped balls are a result of simply a lack of focus and inexperience, not an inability to play.

5.) Simms had no major mistakes. We left a lot of yards on the field, but they can just as easily be attributed to the receivers than the qb.

6.) Rajion Neal made a couple of nice runs. Hopefully, we'll continue to see more of him.

7.) The experience Stone and James are getting is going to pay off major dividends in the next couple of years.

8.) Gerald Jones coming back is certainly going to be a welcome site next week.

9.) We essentially had an all systems failure in the second half, UAB must have run the screen for 15+ yards 10 times, but we still won the game.

10.) Finally, you people calling for Dooley's head after a game in which we won are complete morons. The bottomline is that we're not good enough to take a week off and win; today, was a firm reminder of that.

How dare you use logic and common sense in evaluating that game.

Does anyone think UT really gave it their all in this game? 12:21 kickoff, crowd was not into it from the beginning, we are playing UAB....come on. Just expected a win and UAB did their thing.

I love logic, you can justify anything with logic. You can say "hey, we are not a complete failure, we are no where near complete".

I can remember making it to SEC championship games, with Dooley at the helm and you all holding their feet to the fire, the only way they are going to a SEC Championship is if they buy tickets.

How soon till we start getting scheduled as other teams homecoming game?:eek:lol:

#'s 1 and 2 are not so much a positive for UT as it is a negative for UAB's kicker. Plain and simple. We did nothing special to win this game other than rely on the opposing teams kicker to leave 12 points on the field.

1 and 2 led to 3 where I noted we won the game with special teams. This game is just a perfect example of how important special teams are.

Positives: Luck was on our side, the stadium didn't empty

Negatives: do I really need to list these?

I hope Dooley triples practice time

Big positive for me is they didn't stop trying. They could have easily given up but they stayed with it and won! A win is much better than getting beat by this team. We have had great TN teams not play well against inferior teams.

There were NO positives in this game.We were out-played in every facit of the game.

Would like to point out that in second OT on the final UAB offensive play, we had only ten men on the field.

Also, what was with the absolute garbage playcalling, along with a mandatory false start, following timeouts?

We decided to wait and false start every time we had a 3rd and short.
