There's enough negativity on the site to last a lifetime, but what did you see this year to be positive about moving forward?
1. Q Crouch he's been jumping off the screen at times this season and showing elite level athletes from the LB position. 2021 LB group will be dominant.
2. Hyatt. Tillman, small. When these kids got a chance they showed big time ability. Hopefully Chaney will open up the offense and let Bailey throw deep to all the new found speedster we have.
3. Cooper Mayes very impressed to see a freshman take over in the middle of the line. Hopefully him, Spraggins. Morris, and Wright continues to develop and provide a great group in front of Bailey, small, and gray.

There were other players that showed flashes of playmaker ability as well. I'm fairly excited to see how much these players can develop. The talent is there. Let's hope their abity to understand the schemes and concepts matches the talent they have shown.

Tennessee has some talent, just not as much as other SEC teams, unfortunately

I think you meant Cooper Mays

D Slaughter and Key Lawrence also came on late. I thought Flowers played pretty good at times but needs to be more aggressive at the ball. It’s obvious we need to develop the secondary more but there is talent there.

Might wanna pump the brakes a bit. This team hasn’t been dominant at anything in years.

Tmarion McDonald and Key Lawrence look good at safety. We may have something there.

Crouch has had to play OLB then move ILB and he had to play immediately. Most ILB at UGA or Bama get to sit and learn. Play special teams. Has a lot of ability and it flashed at times, i think he finished with 60 tackles on the year. But he was out of position a lot too.

Hyatt could be a star if the QB situation gets a different guidance. Joseph and Barron might be your starters next season at OLB. Watch out for Bryson Eason too. Roman Harrison still just doesn't get it. He had such good instincts at NT in high school. But he's out of position too often and gives up the edge a lot.

Beckwith and Small at RB will have to fight off some great competition coming in at RB. Spraggins and Co Mays are going to be studs.

Harrison Bailey will have to grow on his own, because Pruitt is a QB killer imo...

IMO our LB group is too slow, good tacklers when they get there. They are just bad in pass defense not sure if it's being to slow or slow reaction recognition or coaches/MLB putting them in wrong sets. Tototo is good but IMO he gets more hype than he deserves. So far he's not anything special. He still has time to get there , his speed/size concerns.

In general college football is just broken. I don't live in Tennessee and every other fanbase I encounter has extreme Bama and Clemson fatigue. It's to the point where it's boring. Zero surprise. Even bama fans I know are getting bored if it. All of their games are over by halftime.

There are like 5 teams in the country right now that have a chance to win a title any given year. Unfortunately for us, we play 3 of them every year. A long way to go. But cycling coaches hasn't worked for us, or anyone. I like our players. I plan to support them regardless of our record, negativity only breeds negative results.

Travis Henry had to take a pay cut to join the Titans.

Agreed lol.

I think pay for play is the only thing that will level this worn out version of the game that no one likes. Set up bidding wars for the top players and they'll spread out. As it is now, they all congregate in the same 3 spots and the positive feedback loop charges on.

I was browsing some wvu forums after we got them as an opponent and saw a thread they had where someone mentioned both Alabama and Georgia had signed more 5 stars this year than WVU had in 100 years as a program...combined. Granted, they're a crap program in a crap location, but that is probably a true statistic for another 20-30 P5 teams. We actually fair pretty well in recruiting and still spin our wheels in the SEC for the last decade. Beating the brakes off B10 teams in bowls only counts for so much.

It was a positively pretty play when Bailey hit the TE down the sideline. I look forward to dual-purpose TEs and more involvement of them in the offense.

Secondly, we saw hopeful glimpses of what Beckwith offers. Wish we could have seen Hodge and Whitehead, but am pleased we have other backs coming in who are not little'uns.

Henry was getting picked when Ta&m ran that little wheel route to the RB. He has to recognize that sooner. They ate us up with that play. Crouch got a ways to go imo.
Hyatt and Baron were my freshman picks this year.

We have a roster full of good players honestly. Incredible talent at wr, rb, and oline. And defensively we have some dudes emerging at every level.
