Positive article regarding Heupel

Bad article. It makes me want to vomit up a fur ball or the bird that I ate for lunch.

Blames the fans for what the program has become.

Blames the fans for Pruitt too.

Maybe next article he can blame us for the virus, cancer, and the bubonic plague.

I must have read a different article. Seems like he blamed an inept administration. But I guess that's just me. My apologies.

I'm tired of the media acting like Schiano was going to turn us around, what a joke. I am 100 percent behind Coach Heupel but this fan base is one of the most loyal in the country. While like every fan base some are way over the top, the reason for Tennessee's decent since 2007 that actually started around 2002 was not because of the fans. But the past is the past, the media can go kick rocks they are pathetic. Tennessee's plight isn't because of it's fans, truly the adminstration should be greatful that our fans have remained overall loyal to the program through the toughest of times. Time to quit pointing fingers and get a product on the field that competes and wins alot more than it loses. It won't happen overnight, but were aren't totally depleted there is nothing that tells me we are going to get totally hammered by the ncaa. In 3-4 years hopefully we see a team on the field that plays hard and is tough and has a chance to win everytime they hit the field. Bring a winner to knoxville and the world will know who Tennessee fans are every saturday afternoon you can take that to the bank. GBO!!!!

These media a -holes are never going to let that Schiano fiasco die.

Let me know when that guy proves to be anything other than an overhyped, overpaid, mediocre at best coach.

His defense finished 13 spots worse than the Vols did in PPG in 2020 playing in a much easier conference. So much for the defensive genius .

They weren't happy with him up at Rutgers either

The most basic rule of coaching is to give your team a chance to win by putting your players in the best possible position to succeed. And with a pair of disastrous fourth down decisions in Rutgers territory in the first half, Greg Schiano didn’t do that.

Rutgers football: Schiano fourth-down decisions set up loss to Penn State

Hiring Schiano would have led us right into another coaching search minus the NCAA drama.
Not necessarily

Stupid Yahoo writer lost all credibility when he called us the "fellowship of the miserable" rather than the "Legions of the Miserable" as we were named by the great Johnny Majors in 1992. Geezzzz

Sounds more like another stupid media person blaming the Tennessee fans for revolting against a terrible Schiano hire. They are all still obsessed with the fact that we didn't hire "their guy".

Ultimately, the "revolution" was successful. We got rid of Haslam puppets, but got stuck with an incompetent Fulmer for 3 years. Now we got rid of Fulmer and have a good AD.

None of this would've happened without the revolt against Schiano. We'd still be stuck with Haslam puppets as AD, complete dysfunction, and a completely toxic coach in Schiano.

I believe you are correct. We have an uphill climb right now, but at this juncture, I don't see why we can't succeed now.

This looks like an article that was written as a request by the school AD for positivity to build up support for the hire. Surely that isnt possible?

The negativity on display on this site is almost unbearable. I used to love to come here and get info and learn about recruits among other things. But the past 5 years or so this has become a haven for the miserable and they if they don't have something to complain then they don't have a reason to exist.

Exactly. Why don't these so called journalists remind us of how many teams were beating down Schiano's door to hire him? He wouldn't have gotten a sniff at a HC job if Rutgers hadn't come calling.

He didn't even get the interim tag when Urban got in trouble and was suspended ... that went to Ryan Day ... as did the HC gig permanently.
So, he wasn't good enough for Ohio State (who I actually like) but was a homerun for UT?
I know we're hillbillies, but we're not stupid.

Cliff Notes: You stupid hillbillies need to STFU and embrace your mediocrity.

I'm past ready to start winning again so these hacks will stop writing this drivel.

Article loves Heupel and White. Hates the rest of us.

I was ok with the article, excluding the Schiano noise he continues to spew years after. Schiano was not a good fit as the coach for UT.
Pete, my suggestion is you use "all your clout" to make sure the other orange, Syracuse, your alma mater, hires Schiano. Much better fit

I'm thinking Pete Thamel started this thread to get folks to click on his article. Probably has 10 different accounts on here.

Hey...did ya read this one? :)

Per Yahoo.

Heupel does not look at his phone or Twitter.

Tennessee got the best coach for their money and his offenses will be very exciting and fun to watch.

Interesting column.

Devil's advocate - Thamel got to break the story about Pruitt's termination and he gave us some good "PR" for this hire...
