Besides 1B, we have a good base of infielders. Manny, Jay, Newstrom, Ariel, and Grimmer can all play infield and most likely will. Plus any freshman that we bring in

That’s a lot of inexperience. Talented, yes. But not many combined ABs in that group (except for Marin obviously). I’m also not sure if Antigua has the bat to be an everyday player in the SEC.

It's all so up in the air still, but Advincula wasn't really one I was overly worried about. We need pitching.

1B Grimmer
2B Myatt

SS Marin
OF Newman
OF Abernathy
OF Brown
DH Clark

Ford would be a massive addition to that, factor in Hunter High, Jaxon Walker, Antigua and Freshman makes the lineup look somewhat set.

Don't think the plan is for Wright to catch unless Lawless/Clark don't progress like they should over the course of the offseason

It’s not a bad lineup, but on paper that certainly does not look as deep or good as any of the lineups on paper from 2021-2025. Granted, that’s why they play the game on the field, not in the stat sheet, but I would just be concerned by the lack of D1 experience and the youth.

Gotcha. I thought someone in the know on here said Clark isn't really a catcher. But knowing Tony's tendencies I figured we are going to get the best bats in the lineup anyway we can.

Already kinda tight tbh with the positions. Ford would push someone out.

Anyone heard any smoke around Ace Reese? Saw a Miss St. poster say he’s heard rumors that LSU is trying to get him to enter and that Henry Ford is in his ear to come to Tennessee.

He would be a massive addition. LSU boards hinting they are the ones pushing the narrative of entering as you mentioned

Will Wright catch? Probably.

I was just saying (maybe I didn’t convey it) that I think he and the staff prefers he plays another position if the other catchers progress.

I’d imagine he’ll still catch some along the way regardless
