Updates from Ben McKee as of yesterday:

- Tennessee has gained serious momentum with Rice LHP/OF transfer Blaine Brown from my understanding.

- The Vols did go visit Rutgers RHP Landon Mack yesterday, as his sister posted on TikTok.

- Vols were also scheduled to visit Cal middle infielder Jarren Advincula this week.

Is the appeal of Blaine Brown the LHP or the bat? Because his pitching stats are disgusting.

His hitting numbers are pretty decent, but I'm curious what they see in the arm.

Dude has a lot of physical tools. Only a true freshman last year on a bad team. He was a top 250 player coming out of high school. Lots to work with if you’re Frank.

Right. Seth Halvorsen had a really high ERA (over 6.00) at Missouri when Tennessee took him, but Frank saw the tools he could work with and correctable flaws that were causing the high ERA. Probably the same thing here. Or they see the same type of upside with the bat.

Lance Berkman: "We have a freshman named Blaine Brown who is electric. On the mound he's 97-100 as a left handed pitcher and is also one of our best hitters. He can hit the ball out of the world. He's a really exciting young guy."

Granted this was before the 20.77 ERA lol

Probably a midweek guy as a pitcher and see how the bat progresses over the fall
