Maybe this is something I never paid attention to or are we seeing a focus on more two way guys to go with players who can field multiple positions? Granted, I don't follow things as closely as the regulars on the board, but maybe that's the direction Vitello goes with this new roster number?

Quick look says Brown isn't much of a pitcher. 4.1 innings 10 ER. Looks like Newman was injured a good portion of this season but his 2024 hitting and pitching stats are quite nice. The flexibiliy has to be major plus in a roster crunch.
