Pope: There Is No Hell

If you're breathing, you're being carnal at that moment. Being carnal and being spiritual cannot be mutually exclusive if you believe that human beings can be filled with the spirit.

We are incarnate.

Saved people have a heavenly treasure in an earthly vessel and sometimes it's all we can do to get the heaven to beat the earth down. :)

You remember that time I said that I refuse to interact with you until you stop lying and begin dealing in an intellectually honest manner?

Yah. Me too.

Good, I suggest using your ignore button. :) I honestly mean that! :hi:

My boss just followed me to the liquor store and bought me some beer.

If lost people can overcome sin, How much more someone with God living on the inside?

No offense, but that is an evasive answer. The answer is anyone can will themselves to sobriety, or choose not drink a beer. You certainly don't need the HS to do that.

I've asked you to take a faith test before and so i'll pick back up. I'm guessing you go in to establishments that serve alcohol, you just don't drink it. You're being a hypocrite. How can you, a spirit filled Christian, go to a place where alcohol is served when even touching it to your lips is sin.

If you don’t mind I would like to give an answer

Are we not told to become more like Christ? The answer is yes. Did Christ not bring a known prostitute in to his group. Did he not walk among healing the cripple, the lame. Did he not walk into a city so corrupt just to speak with a woman at a well because his disciples were scared too? Going to a restaurant does not make one a hypocrite. Just as going to a wedding wouldn’t make a non believer one

So, do you think it is a sin to smoke pot? or take meth? or cocaine in moderation?

Roust, why are you so bothered by me thinking drinking alcohol is a sin? Do I not have the right to think so? If you want to drink it, fine with me, but you will stand before God with it as I will stand before God with my beliefs. I am very comfortable with my stand against alcohol.

I agree with this. :)

Good question. To give you a little background I’m studying to become a pastor but am law enforcement. I was not looking for a religion (man made). I was looking for a relationship with my lord and savior. Now you question

We are told to obey the laws so yes.
Our bodies are to be temples.
I do believe Things were put here for our benefit. Marijuana is a plant.
But here is the real answer. I will be judged by what’s in my heart and what’s in my heart is I refuse to pass judgement for what others do. Kinda puts me in a bind sometimes. Lol. So for me yes it is a sin however u may believe differently

Sorry thought that was a follow up question to me. 😂

Here’s one is watching television a sin?

I think it can be. Anything you put before God is sin. Do ya watch 4 hrs worth of television when you could spend three of those hours in his word?

In my opinion, it is very much a sin. Those things puts one in a drunken state and also gives one a very bad testimony along with the horrible health benefits. Therefore I believe it to be a sin.
Thanks for the great response. :hi:

I think that watching filthy shows is sinful and putting too much time with a T.V when you ought to be spending it with God is a form of idolatry. Many things can become idols in our lives. Any thing we love more, serve more, fear more is an idol to us. I believe that God deserves 1st place in our lives.

Its my belief, which doesn't make it fact, that if you think drinking alcohol is a sin, its a sin, for you.

Having alcohol affecting my life, negatively, consuming alcohol would be a sin, for me.

If Bob has never had any issues that affected him or his life in a negative manner in any way, doesn't drink enough as to cause him to get drunk and influence him to sin and doesn't believe it to be a sin, then I don't think it is, for him.

I believe this is one of infinite examples of ones personal relationship with God. If I have a close personal relationship with him and I'm genuinely honest with him, and more importantly myself, I'm absolutely sure he will "tell" me if what I'm doing is right or wrong.

Watching the beauty of God's creation in action is a tribute to his awesomeness. IMO

You both are making great points. Here’s were I think it’s getting side tracked you are looking for approval/concession which isn’t his place to give. What we are told if it strikes a chord then God wants us to hear it for our benefit.

I was told by dr.s that I should drink a beer every so often (kidney issues). Since finding God have had no need for a beer.

He's 100% correct. The concept was born of heathen mythology and furthered by Donte. Souls cannot burn, if there are souls.
