Poole's comments on the team

Our problem is not game plan (which is not my favorite, but fine), it's not depth (which we know we lack), it's DISCIPLINE. Teams that lack depth and talent, but have lots of discipline will win a few games they are not supposed to simply because they make less mistakes than the other team.

It's not very hard to figure out who Poole is talking about. It's not the freshman -- the guys who were recruited by CDD. It's probably not the upper classmen either (maturity rules). That would leave Kiffin's guys......

Can't really call him a "Fulmer" guy. He grew up in Knoxville and walked on. Great "Rudy" type story....is a practice squad caliber guy. Had a tough personal foul call against UGA last week.

I'm sure there's a lot of disdain in the locker room for the current coaches by these players (the few that are left).

BUT, the entire team is at fault here, not a select few guys. Its the seniors' / juniors' responsibility to be leaders and I havent seen too many folks get fired up and lead the team on the sideline yet. (Except Walker and reviez a little)

Its probably beacause the seniors and juniors that are there havent stepped up as playmakers yet and therefore dont command respect yet. (excpet reviez)

and I'm looking right at G Jones and D Moore, Shaw, Kevin Cooper, Stocker

Just for clarification purposes... Who are we going to blame in 3 years when we still suck? Will it still be Fulmer'
s recruiting classes and all his horridness that is to blame?

The same senior class that were underclassmen during the 08 season. They "learned" how to lead by watching a team collapse.

Those 08 upperclassmen were able to watch the lockerroom implode during the 05 season.

It's a recurring theme here. Once the guys that have been conditioned to losing leave, the lockerroom will be a great place to be.

I'm going to venture out on a limb here and bet the Gerald Jones is one of those players not buying in to the system. I'd also bet that Stocker might not be either. The lack of production on their parts isn't due to a lack of talent...

No, if we had kids that played with heart and love of the VOLS....not some nansi pansi's

I sat here and watched Alabama during the probation years win alot of games they should not have won as the players they got where from Alabama, wanted to play for Alabama and "Gave there all" for Alabama....

If that is the situation in 3 years you will have a point.... but it is not 3 years from now..... and sadly that means you have no logic behind this.

Cant say im too surprised if players are not buying in. They are young and prolly bitter will take time

It will take time to completley cut out the cancer that was CPF's legacy. This team lacks senior leadership and heart. All of that has to come from the upperclassmen, not the current coach or his staff.

When you lose in embarrassing fashion, everyone starts looking for rationalizations.

Tebow did it when UF got beat by Ole Miss. Several Bama guys did it following their recent loss.

Maybe "buy in" is what pushed Oku down the depth chart?

Mostly though, this is just a team without the guns to consistently compete against the top 4 most talented teams in the SEC.
