Poole was at the Carson Newman Passing Camp for middle schoolers a couple of weeks ago. This is a 7 on 7 passing league for 7th and 8th graders that is sponsored by FCA. Poole was the guest speaker and gave a very inspirational speech on never giving up. He spoke about the trials of having a new coach come in and put a freshman ahead of him despite having a great spring practice.

He was about to leave when the UT chaplain challenged him and told him that real men face adversity and overcome it while cowards run away from their problems (paraphrase). Poole's message to the kids was to never give up, keep working your hardest and good things will come to you. He gave a great speech and it inspired several kids.

My 13 year old was a huge Bryce Brown fan (even bought his jersey). He has since been transformed to a huge Tauren Poole fan. It was great to see what a wonderful young man Poole is and how he is finally being rewarded for his hard work. Let's hope he has a great and injury free season!

Class act. On another note, I may have to sign my son up for that camp next year. He's going into the 6th grade this year.

It is an awesome camp. The FCA had a great session on Thursday and several kids got saved. Furthermore, they are big on kids writing down goals and working hard to achieve them. It's a first rate camp.
