Can't all be blamed on Butch.. They need our support more now than ever

I'm convinced Butch had this drawn up prior to the game because he couldn't come up with another new motto. I've seen this plastered everywhere. Anyone that still calls themselves a Vols fan is the definition of this logo. Doesn't mean we can't be upset about Butch's pissed poor game day coaching.

Take a look at the poll results, folks. The majority of VN clearly doesn't spend their time posting all day and is still behind Butch.

Florida + Arkansas wins. Then we are back on track.

Anyone even thinking of firing Butch at this point has no understanding of college football. None.

UT won't fire Butch ever, he'll be here till the end of his contract because we can't afford a buyout.

But if Hart better not give him an extension for coaching us to another 7-5 or worse season.

but a new OC would be ok

An actual OC would be ok. Mike Debord is not an OC, he's a former Olympic Sports Administrator, who also was a positions coach, and briefly held the title of 'Offensive Coordinator' while employed by Michigan, and happens to be good friends with Butch Jones

However, he is not in fact, an actual offensive coordinator.

I don't see any genius in the game day coaching, yeah coaches can outwit the other coach sometimes, but at least the guy can recruit. I no longer want to change coaches since the administration refuses to hire above the mid-major level. You hire enough mid-major coaches, guess what, you become a mid-major team. Thats where we are at this moment.

Butch learned his lesson with Bajakian, looks like he's going to learn the same lesson all over with Debord. I'm off the hype train.

The guy is going into the 3rd game of his 3rd season of a complete rebuilding job. Look at the seniors on this team and list those that will be on an NFL roster next year.

Some of you guys need to come in from the ledge..... Or maybe just go ahead and jump.

Really? Look at the defense and tell me they're not doing well considering the personnel they have.

I really like coach Jones and what he has done in a short time he has been here. I think he just needs to step up his game on the field too on game day. One other thing if we make a field goal or don't have 3 useless penalties and we wrap up a QB then we are not talking about this today!

Still ALL IN. At least thru this season. IF we lose games like this next year, then we have a problem.

Last thing this program needs is another coaching change.

Keep trading coaches and keep starting over. Its a young generation so raised on every time adversity hits. Just hit reset button. I'm still 100% Butch. We will get there, but folks have no patience.

Funny, he actually was an OC at UM for two different tenures including their national championship year and a head coach at UCM. He also was an NFL tight ends coach. He was the Sporting News assistant coach of the year in 1997. Apparently he had a one off game limit by our more skeptical fans who are shocked that Butch would hire someone he worked for, liked and respected to run his offense. At 54, I am offended that at 59 he is called grandpa and washed up.

Discuss what last nights debacle did for your support one way or another for Butch Jones.

"Debacle"? I thought we lost a close 2 OT game versus a ranked Oklahoma team that beat the hell out of us last year. Debacle by definition is an ignominious defeat, a rout. Yes, let's have Butch publicly flogged (blue font) in front of his wife and kids. Maybe the rnext top 5 recruiting classes for 16 and 17 can hold him down.

Him being washed up as a football coach has nothing to do with his age, but rather the fact that his skills have not migrated int he same direction that the game has gone.

Look at it this way. Let's say that Jones is fired at the end of the season. How long do you think he would be out of a job before some other P5 school came calling?

That's how I look at Stoops. If he were fired, how long would it be before another P5 school came calling?

Yes. Debacle. The second half of the second quarter, the third quarter and the fourth quarter was a debacle offensively.

10 minutes left in regulation and the overtimes the defense was a debacle. So yeah, a debacle.

Butch Jones =/= Stoops.

Jones would be back in the MAC, unless Iowa State or Kansas came calling. A huckster like him will always find some simpletons to buy his junk.

I'm thinking Jones is an 8-4 coach, which is an improvement over what we had. His upside with recruiting means he could be possibly a Mark Richt level coach, but never a Saban or Meyer level (again there's not many out there that is). My opinion is he is a guy who will most of the games he should but never win the ones that he is outmatched.

Is there an option for "withholding judgment until we see the rest of the season play out since it's ridiculous to make your mind up about a coach because of the first loss of the season"?
