Great DC, great recruiter, but have absolutely no idea how he'll be as a HC. Not saying he can't succeed. But too high of a risk given the state of our program
Not sure why he is any more a risk than anybody else. No matter who is trying to extinguish the dumpster fire that we are has a steep hill to climb. Continuing to recruit for Bama doesn't help however.

Can't believe this dude was hired over these coaches:

Miles, Leach, Sumlin or Kiffin

Just purely the laughing stock of college football.

I disagree. Having supported hiring either Kiffin or Leach, I am happy to welcome Coach Pruitt to Tennessee.

That's exactly why I stopped paying attention to the rumors. You never know what's accurate in the press nowadays. I just sat back to watch it play out once Fulmer was at the helm. I'm very pleased and even moreso as I hear more about Pruitt and the deal.

Me, too. Fulmer should have been the AD when Hamilton was fired, and we could have had an adult in the room and avoided a lot of the ensuring nightmare.

I guess I'd never have listed Pruitt as an option, but then I don't know of any realistic choice that inspired my imagination anyway. I honestly see more a vacuum in what others seem to view as a wide open field of "sure fire" head coaches, and thought a long time ago a good DC would be the best option.

There's a very good reason why none of the high octane, flashy, offensive minded coaches have teams playing for the NC - even though their "new game" "has passed by" everyone else.

I would rather have had a proven winner as a HC. But as coordinators go, he is a darn good one. I'll certainly be rooting for him but it's impossible to say how this will go, just now. You need an on the fence option in the poll.

I’m not unhappy about it. Maybe underwhelmed. I wanted Leach so any seemingly normal coach was going to be a disappointment. It’s a hire I can get behind eventually.

Not my choice. However, he's an improvement over what we had no matter what and I will give him 100% support until I think he doesn't deserve it. He better be a great recruiter.

Nope.

I don’t think he’ll work out but I’ll reserve my judgment in 2-3 years.

Hell I gave Butch & Dooley a chance, might as well give it another go around. Like I have a choice.

I hope Jeremy Pruitt is extremely successful as the new Tennessee head football coach Vol Nation is looking forward to a long and successful career as coach of the Volunteers!

I'm very happy and with some of the assistant names being thrown around (Helton, Fair, Friend), that's a lot of icing on the cake.

I voted yes I'm happy cause it could of been worse. I try to be positive about a coach and support them until they prove not to be the one.
