Did I miss something? When did we lose in the first round of the NIT last year?
What did they do?
The incident with not allowing Martin to use the plane to go on a recruiting trip. Not supporting him.
Also, when Hart was interviewed during the S.E.C. tourney, he did not give Martin a public statement of support. He took the wait and see statement.
Even the players eluded to things that weren't right in Martin's treatment. That is how they took on the "Us against them" attitude during the NCAA.
What in the hell are you talking about? Were you asleep for the entire BB season last year?
If anyone is in trouble, it will be the Adminstration at Southern Miss. I don't know many Coaches that have the ability to "give" financial help through the university without Adminstration's approval.
No. If the allegations are true then it makes Tyndall a repeat offender. The NCAA tends to crack down a lot harder on coaches who already have a history of running afoul of the rulebook (see: Kelvin Sampson, Bruce Pearl).

Comparing Tyndall to Kelvin Sampson (one of the must unethical cheating coaches of all time) and an admitted liar in Bruce Pearl is just inappropriate and irresponsible to say the least......

If you recall, Martin's first two season's at U.T. we did not qualify for the NCAA but ended up playing in the N.I.T.
Once the 3rd season started off slowly, the fans assumed that last season would end the same way. He was getting heat from the fans last season, when things started off slowly. " Oh boy here we go again, with another N.I.T. tourney when we have the roster to go to the NCAA " was the general thought.
Martin took the team to the N.I.T. his first season and we lost to Mercer in the first round.
Martin took the team to the N.I.T. his second season and we beat Savannah State then lost to M.T.S.U.
Those are not the standards set by U.T.; especially with the roster we had last season. In his 3rd season, Martin had the team off to a slow start. We lost games that were close losses. The fans started to feel that we would go to yet another N.I.T. and not qualify for the NCAA.
The thinking was correct UNTIL we played in the S.E.C. and got a couple of wins that put us in the NCAA.
So, going to the N.I.T. was not the standard for the program and when people started to think that last season would be another N.I.T. season, people's attitudes toward the program and Martin began to change.
That is why the team adopted the "Us against Them" attitude at the end of the season. It was plainly visible.....

Unfortunately you're right....as much as I liked CCM...he just didn't get it done here like we were used to....and the losses to T A&M and Vandy just about did us in....and we rallied against lesser competition and made it to the tourney....We just seem to mis-remember sometimes....Good man...just not a great coach....
The plane thing was overblown.....he had plenty of planes to go on recruiting trips....I have no idea how hart felt about him but it did seem like Hart would have preferred his own guy.
