Beating Bama for the third time in four years would've seemed so impossible not that long ago, when Kool-aid McKinstry was running down the field with the INT that got called back. A win in Tuscaloosa would give some serious "Tennessee is back for real real" vibes.

It could happen. But I'll believe it when I see it
I understand, but these Bama teams arent winning games before they get off the bus anymore. They have some talent coming back on D, and Ryan Williams is top 10 talent, but we don’t know about Ty Simpson yet. Who knows where Florida will be by late November? They could be a top 10 team or they could be getting Napier’s buyout together . The point is that there’s no sure world beater on schedule this season, UGA included

The amount of money being spent overall this season versus money being spent 5 years ago is so much greater it's almost ridiculous. This has changed the goals significantly. Does anyone think these big boosters are donating millions more to be satisfied with a 9-3 season missing the playoffs? No, the stakes are much higher now than ever before meaning more pressure on players and coaches to compete for the national championship. I think the money has been flowing into programs across the country as donors are eager to buy a championship. This eagerness will not last long unless they see results.

Because Heupel has been building this team since the day he arrived and inherited a total garbage dump.

The defense has been steadily improving every season, although I do expect a small step back on D, I expect this offense to actually score points against SEC opponents.

If he can't get to 10 wins this year, it's time to move on to the next guy.

Too much money being spent in CFB to be ok with the status quo.
"Fan" is the diminutive of "Fanatic" Tennessee fans will continue to spend insane amounts of money on this football team until they realize it is no different than the Titans, or Browns, or Raiders...

"Re-building" a team used to begin with high school recruiting, but now happens every year. Sad but true

How long until we do away with Senior Day?

Heupel isn't going anywhere so you might as well turn in your orange colored shirts and go root for somebody else.

You are dreaming if you think DW will cut him loose for not getting 10 wins every season. There are 3 schools that have that expectation and we are not one of them.

You are living in the past my friend. Welcome to 2025.

Success this year, and every year from here on out == 8-4 or better. The higher above 8-4 we go, the better the success.

We are, of course, striving for huge, great, macro success. As in championships.

It's pretty simple.

Go Vols!

8 wins is the floor considering the talent level of our defense, Oline and run game. If we weren’t having to play a new QB, then that floor may have moved up to 9 wins, but it is what it is. 9-3 is good considering the question marks at QB and WR.

Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia are the only teams that have 10 win year in and year out expectations. Michigan and OSU because over half their schedule is below top 25 in the talent composite, and Alabama and Georgia because they have run this conference the last two decades. Texas could be in that conversation too, but they haven't been "back" long enough.

I guess shoot for the moon, but we are still not in a spot where we can expect back to back 10 win seasons. The last time that happened was 2003-04, and before that it was Fulmer's best stretch 1995-98.

If the big money donors care enough, then they would open up the pocket books to get us a top 5 recruiting class. Until that happens, our success is 9 wins, sometimes stretching to 10. There is a MASSIVE difference between a top 5 vs a top 10 recruiting class.

Calling out the importance of a High School recruiting class ranking is another indicator you live in the past.

Bubba ran this conference for a long time, but that has been over for 3 years now. Ask Vandy, plus 2 out of the last 3 for the good guys.

This season should get 10 wins because roster management is the name of the game. We spent big money to keep important players on the roster.

This staff believed in the guys we have, so it's win or move on.

I think moving on after a 9-3 season would be pretty insane
