Yep…I guess the question mark was rhetorical but I’d agree with your diagnosis. My brother in law is a high profile psychologist/author/podcaster/TV personality. I’ll ask him for the disorder…I’m sure it’s named after the Vols for prevalency…hope it’s not contagious!..

I like Knowles and Walter, the only thing that made me hesitate with Walter was he doesn't do a lot to get after the QB and I would be a little concerned with that train of thought.

Ohio State and Oklahoma State were both tops in total defense, elite in scoring defense, elite in third down stops. Dude has has elite defensive numbers every where he went but Penn State.

Two things are true, the defense has no where to go but up and it appears it takes 2-3 years for his defense to become as effective as we'd like it. The question becomes, does he get that long of a leash here. We will get better because we're so bad we essentially can't get worse, so that should get him to year two, which will be a make or break year for he and Heupel, and the schedule is brutal in 2027.

Talent makes coaches look better than what they actually are. Tim Banks was up for the best DC in the country just last season.

some of the responses in the other thread are shocking to me, so I'm curious.

I voted for homerun hire, but I am between that and good hire, could have done better. I don't think he is the best out there, but he might be the best available, and he's definitely an upgrade from Banks and that would mean its a homerun hire.
