Dobbs and Hurd are the sole reason we had a lead to blow to begin with. Dobbs has this offense unless he just starts throwing interceptions like crazy. Dobbs threw a pretty decent last year. Did he suddenly forget how to? Doubt it . coaches need to just call it

But can u say for sure he's not the reason our 5 star wrs are getting one to two touches a game we not really completed any deep balls. I love dobbs but I think oc has no faith in his arm

Not with this OL would I want to throw him in there this early. I still believe Worley could have been a salvageable QB if it werent for the coaches throwing him into games where he just got beaten down. It starts to get in a QBs head and eventually compounds until confidence is shot and decision making is affected.
The staff's ability to identify strengths of the QB and adjust is also in question...Did Nathan Peterman just all of a sudden become a salvageable QB?

Dobbs was 10/17 on passing. Was he given lot of chances to throw the damn ball. NO! He missed open Josh once, Ball was dropped by our elite WRs at least three times. It is very difficult to have 17/17 passing. So thinking that Dormady would come in and magically our offense will improve is quiet not right. The play calling in the second half has been ridiculous to say the least. First half play calling was amazing. Everything was going our way!

backup qb = most popular player on the team

lets see I remember a time when everybody wanted to bench Worley and put Peterman in.

how do that work out for ya?

If Dormady played, in this current scheme, the only thing we'd see differently is a #12 jersey handing the ball off instead of #11. I would like the coaches to let Dobbs PASS the ball and put the game on his shoulders before handing the reigns over to someone else. It is honestly too difficult to judge how good Dobbs is 4 games in because of how often we run the ball. Let him pass, let him throw downfield - how will he ever get better if you don't give him a chance. I know throwing downfield has been a struggle for him but he's never going to improve if Debord's offense continues to run the way we've seen it.

I voted that I would like to see Dormady. What can it hurt? I don't want him to replace Dobbs -right now- because of what I just said, but I would like to see if/when he plays if the play calling becomes a little more aggressive/pass heavy.

I think most of us, deep down, don't want a quarterback change; we just want to see a different OFFENSE. What we have seen so far, to be honest, has been extremely boring to watch (at least the second half offense). I want to be aggressive for 4 quarters; not just the first 2.

I think you're overestimating the ability of a freshman to play SEC level competition. He played well against Western Carolina, but we're not facing that level of opponent again. I think it's Dobbs from here out unless he gets injured.

Dobbs is the starter. I would like to see Dormady used strategically though. If we are going to throw on 3rd and long why not put the better passer in? Since that reinforces what the d is thinking it might be a good setup for a trick play at least. At this point I think you have to try anything and everything to score more points in the 2nd half.

I want to see Dormady every game. That means we have a lead that even a "chart" and "analytics" can't squander.

Having a qb controversy if never a good thing. If we're up big.. Fine give him some snaps to get him ready. But nothing more. Dobbs put the team on his back against Florida and did extremely well. Diving for first downs, making good decisions, few bad throws but that's too be expected. It amazes me at the number of people who even think about starting the backup after a performance like that.

Had we won there would have been Heistman whispers after a performance like that.

I see no issue with playing, if Dobbs has a significant lead going into the fourth. By significant I mean four to or greater, we have seen what happens with 17 or fewer point leads in the fourth.

Dobbs was the only reason why we had a lead. Really suprised our o line even gave him time to throw. QD would have been sacked play after play. Without dobbs in hurd and kamara dont have as many running lanes. Why are we running the ball 80% of the time and running a fast tempo? Shouldnt we be chewing up clock

so what you are saying is by having Dormady QB the offensive line will all of a sudden be able to pass block?

No! I don't need that in my life. QB controversy before Georgia, and Alabama? They mashed their wieners against the Window at the Lona Club, while the girls were rehearsing for the Christmas pageant! Wieners against window? No, no good.

Wanting True freshman to play QB and thinking that will fix what's wrong is typical irrational fan logic. It just doesn't make any sense.

Remember when some people were worried about Dobbs leaving early to go pro? HAAAA. He went to my HS and never got past the 1st round of the state playoffs. He has a baby arm, if all we are going to do is run with him might as well put Pig back there.

Is it time to insert Dormady and lets see what he can do?

Obviously I still think that Dobbs does things on his own and has valuable tangibles. But when UT goes minutes, or hours without attempting or completing a pass....why not change things up with Dormady?

Dormady is a serious serious talent who is currently just standing there watching while his redshirt has been wasted away.

I say play him. Give him 15-20 snaps. Hell, put he and Dobbs on the field together.....

Don't you remember how bad Dobbs was in practice last year that led our coaches to not see the Heisman level talent standing behind Worley?

How could PLAYING Dobbs be Butches big error, when SITTING Dobbs was Butches big error? My VN logic meter is pegged out right now.

I'd really like to know why our D seems to be worse than it was last year when I expected our D to be much better with a better D line rotation.

O put points on the board but our D couldn't stop Oklahoma or the Gators from scoring to take away our lead and our wins.

Is the real problem that our D chokes when we have a lead and they know the game depends on them to protect that lead?

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

One of the biggest problems I see is not with the D itself but with the defensive play calling. I coached high school football for 12 years as a defensive coordinator. One thing I was ADAMANT about was that I would NEVER rush ONLY three players. My stance is that if you are only going to rush three you might as well rush noone. On the 4th and 14 play we should have put pressure with a blitz on their QB. Make him throw the ball in 2 seconds or less. Most likely, even if he completes it, he would have to throw short and the receiver, if he caught it, would have to make a play to gain 14 yards.
We only rushed 3 guys from the front line on that play.
I'll just never understand that mentality, yet I see it constantly. Any QB can find someone open if you let him stand back there with no pressure long enough.

I used to joke with the head coach and tell him if he ever told me to call a scheme where we rushed only three guys I would quit right there :)
