I've supported JG to this point. But I'm done after last night. Line play was better and the passing game was just as bad. Time to cut bait and use the Nooga game to break in one of the backups. I thank JG for the beatings he's taken the last few years. But we've seen his ceiling.

I've been able to buy into the excuses up to this point-- young and inexperienced, no offensive line protection, etc. Now with JG being in the program for so long, and being a much more seasoned starter, I don't buy the young qb mentality. He has regressed if anything. And our o line guys are head and shoulders above what we have had. He has plenty of time to make solid decisions and seems to get worse and worse. What choice do you have besides next man up? You've given him every tool to have at least some measure of success and yet here we are 0-2 at the hands of ga state community technical school and BYU.

Okay let me rephrase.

JG is not smart enough to play QB and be successful.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with intelligence as much as a mental block when he's faced with action on the field ... like someone who knows the subject but simply can't perform on a test. JG looks like someone who has been coached well past his limits or performance ... probably starting with a dad who thought he could make him into a great QB. It's one of those situations that always makes me cringe when a coach comes out with words of wisdom like "the most qualified guy on game day is the guy who does the most in practice."

JG's play is certainly not helping us, and I'm ready to see what another QB can do in a game situation, but I doubt Pruitt gives a damn about our opinion.

Can't disagree with the article except one thing: To say there isn't anything much behind JG isn't a fact. They haven't played in anything of substance to base that on. The same was said of Josh Dobbs when he was on the bench. Funny how he worked out to help pad Butch Jones wins for a few seasons. We won't know what we have until we try them. UTC is the perfect game to do this.
