Before all this, Tee Martin was pegged as the favorite for being the Georgia Southern HC......a Sun Belt team.

He's not ready for all this, and he's in no way the "right guy for the job". If his name wasn't Tee Martin, hardly anyone would be wanting this.

Why? And give me a better option at this point.

So we throw the bank at Gundy and we suddenly now have to settle for a Sun Belt caliber HC?

And the "OH IT'S TEE MARTIN" stuff will only last so long. If he's not in a bowl in 2 seasons the fans will turn on him.

If I were him, I'd say no.

I believe Kiffin has made much need progress under Saban! There has only been one perfect person walk the face of this earth, Jesus Christ! Time to grow up fans and put the toys back in the box! We need a Splash hire, not the middle of the road, or a beginner! Time for Kiffin to return! He wants to beat Saban! The Vols have the facilities. We just need a coach and top 5 recruiting class ever year to compete for titles!

Definitely Kiffin. Head coaching experience at major schools. He's had time to work under Nick Satan. He has experience in the SEC, which is notorious for chewing up coaches from outside conferences. He might be a goon at times but the man can coach some football.

And he knows the bama playbook

That's basically where we are 3 weeks from the early signing period. I don't know if Tee is the answer, but he would unite the fan base and put together a good recruiting class. In the past 50 years, other than Johnny Majors, show me where UT has hired a "proven" coach.

I just want to see us have our swagger back. That and be able to compete with anyone.

No he wouldn't. Sure there will be the initial "TEE IS HOME" crap but once the season starts and he doesn't win, that goodwill will be gone quickly.

We're not falling for all this "he's the right guy for the job" crap we've heard the last 2 hires. He's about the 10th choice and would only be getting the job because of his name.

Not one person ever said Dooley or Butch were the “right guy for the job”
