Let's fire everybody. Start with Jimmy Cheek, Butch and his staff, Hart, the janitor, the professors, the truck drivers. We all love searching and hiring new people, buying out contracts, installing new systems every year and all of the associated drama. This thing would spiral IN control fast if we would clean out everyone.

Should Tennessee fire Donnie Tyndall now in light of the investigation?

Why or why not?

(1) Let's wait to see the results of the investigation.

(2) Who would coach the team should he be fired?

(3) What is his buy out price?

(4) Would Conzo come back?

i think a better poll would be, WOULD YOU TAKE BRUCE PEARL BACK? the sports animal is convinced it was just a 'small faction' of TN fans that wanted him back while zo was still here, i believe different...since it looks like we may be looking for a new coach again, would someone with access to a new thread start this poll?!?...

You can't fire a guy for being accused of something. There has to be guilt so the ball is in the NCAA's court and they need to make a quick and thorough investigation. I would think this would involve interviewing the players involved, any witnesses they have, and any Southern Miss employees that were involved. This should take about a week with any normal organization imagine it will take the NCAA about a year.
If they find that Tyndall is guilty of a violation we fire him and Tennessee moves on. If they find nothing we move on with Tyndall remaining our coach.
I realize if this takes very long it will hurt recruiting players need to know who the coach is going to be. No one is likely to want to come here not knowing who is in charge. If Tyndall knows he is guilty then the honorable thing for him to do would be to resign and all Tennessee's problems will be over. We find another coach and move on.
There are probably fifty or more schools out there with players doing this so guess the NCAA is going to be busy in the next few years investigating all these athletes.

One of the options should be "are you freaking kidding".

Maybe we could just wait to learn more about the allegations and THEN determine just how guilty or not the guy might be.
