You’d at least be building for the future and the new coach would have a head start on the next year to build relationships. Right now, Kim‘s future is going nowhere. Here's the rub, what good does firing her now do? Who wants to come to a program with one returning player and one remaining recruit? And it's not the superstar recruit. They'd have to hit the ground running and praying they can piece together a team from the portal. Not to mention, because of the circumstances, you'd have to overpay for whoever you got. And I don't see DW doing that. He'd more likely look for another up-and-comer. Do I think she deserves to keep her job? No, not really. She lost almost her entire team and the star of her recruiting class. I'm just not sure firing her right now is truly an option.
The first poll you could tell how people voted. This one you can’t. Forgot to give that or deemed too confrontational?Since fox sports radio wants to use the results from my poll from a month ago as justification that the majority of fans want to see Kim retained, let's take an updated look at where the fanbase now stands. Should Kim Caldwell be fired or retained for another year.
Feels like you'd be setting the new coach up to fail. It's going to take a lot of digging to get out of this hole. And Vol fans are not known for being patient. You’d at least be building for the future and the new coach would have a head start on the next year to build relationships. I get that, but right now, it’s setting up Kim to fail as well. Why delay the digging another year? Danny has put himself in an awful situation.Feels like you'd be setting the new coach up to fail. If rumors are true that some boosters have been ignored, there will definitely be less NIL anyway unless someone is willing to step in and give more than previouslyAll the talk about reloading from the portal assumes that there will be some NIL money, and that assumes donors/supporters willing to invest in a program that has just lost nearly every player and at least its best recruit, and two assistant coaches.
Is that a real world assumption or just wishful thinking?
Agree. And why continue asking this question. AD Whit wis keeping her. End of story. Let’s hope she can build a roster and have a better season. If not, see ya- coaching search. Here's the rub, what good does firing her now do? Who wants to come to a program with one returning player and one remaining recruit? Maybe because they could possibly get some of the players backHere's the rub, what good does firing her now do? Who wants to come to a program with one returning player and one remaining recruit?
