UT has never offered serious money to a top-tier coach. We've bargain shopped ever since Kiffin jumped ship, and then sat back and wondered why coaches just use us to get raises from their current schools.

We threw 4 million at Charlie Strong which was great for the time. But he stayed at Louisville.

You need a guy like Kiffin or Freeze that feels they can hold their own with Saban, Smart, and Mullen.

3 of the best coaches with 3 of the best rosters in the country and UT plays them all every single season. There are seasons the Vols could go undefeated in the Big 12, Pac-12-0 , but be 9-3 with their regular schedule.

Mullen, Smart, and Saban aren't going anywhere. Saban has at least 5, and then they probably will get another great after him. Need to get a great of our own.

I can’t recall a time replacing the staff ever really worked. It starts with the head man. No one worth there weight would join a Pruitt staff right now. If you are going to stick with Pruitt you might as well keep the staff around too.

You can tell by year 2 in most cases if a coach “has it.” Its clear he doesn’t have what it takes. Any man who promotes a tight end coach to linebackers is suspect by elementary standards.
